I've just said it in another thread; Hatton would fight Floyd or Cotto tomorrow.

Arum will NOT let Cotto near a puncher/live threat for a while after the Torres shocker; Floyd has been on Oscars trail for months now

Hatton would step in right now with either, of that I'm sure, but right now, neither look likely to want to face him.

Although Cotto's next move is debatable after the Castillo fiasco

Miguel will still most likely fight Cotto at the end of the year, and if Hatton fought PBF@147 now,I think Hatton would get beaten comfortably.

Thats the only reason I say he is entitled to a mandatory, if he wants to stay at Welter where the likes of Mayweather, Cotto, Gatti, Margarito are, then he has to take the mandatory to retain the belt for more bargaining power as the champ when/if a unification bout comes up

As in, he brings no belt, no money. Its a business. I'd say 90% is a big figure to pluck out of the air. The fight was a lot closer than 90% in favour of Collazo. It was a UD not a split decision. I certainly thought Hatton just shaded it, if Collazo didn't have that 12th round, there wouldn't have even been a controversy. At the risk of repeating myself, I would love him to silence his critics and have a rematch but Mr. King didn't include it in the contract, Mr WBA won't sanction it, Mr HBO wouldn't sanction it and neither would Urkal step aside again.

What i dont get mate is what is the point of this fight at WW?? I thought he was a 140 his camp were telling everyone after the Collazo fight, so go back down and fight Cotto or someone worthwhile, i dont understand this fight if he feels his future lies at 140.
Truthfully I think if Castillo had won and didn't have an impending ban on the horizon, he would have stayed at LW, fought Castillo, maybe Corrales and enticed Cotto/Mayweather back down. However, Castillo fucked all that up and there isn't anyone down there anymore. Chico maybe, but thats it, even Cotto is moving up.

Whatever he does he can't win, he even got accused of calling out Lightweights this week by Bob Arum or Gary Shaw I forget which!! Laughable because Castillo proved he is hardly a lightweight

The money tree is at WW and Hatton needs to keep his belt if he wants to be at the top of the money tree come bargaining time with Mr Arum, thats if he lets Cotto anywhere near Hatton

P.s I'm not singling you out or having a go at you just trying to explain how I see it on the opposite side of the fence.

I can't believe that there are peo[ple in here calling Ricky a coward and being close to a disgrace to boxing!

WTF....Coward....yeah right. Straight up a weight to fight the champ? 99% of fighters wouldn't do that.
I'm also agreeing with Ricky not giving Collazo a rematch at this point.
The way he was at the press conference after was disrespectful.
If Hatton was so easy to beat, as Collazo reckons, then he would have beaten hi.
At the end of the day, whoever you are, Hatton Haters, Americans, Whatever....Ricky won, and won fair and square.
Big headed yank couldn't take it like a gent......his problem, no one elses!
He might have fought like a Gent and a professional, but it seemed to me that he just turned into an arrogant, Don King mini-me after it. Tosser!

Ricky aint no coward, he is a true warrior who will fihgt anyone, but if 147 is wear he is staying and no one is available id take Urkal but surely there is better match ups to be made.

Please, someone tell me who he should fight OTHER than Urkal. It won't be Floyd, it won't be Cotto. Urkal is his MANDATORY and since he needs a belt to dangle in front of the potential names at 147 I think this is the correct business decision at this juncture.

If he's to stay at 147 he must keep the belt - that's that. So the names like Judah, Mitchell, and Williams are daft at best. They bring nothing to the table and ALL of them could be just as easily dismissed as Urkal is. At least this keeps the belt in Hattersly.

This is a business and there is some need for strategy outside the ring as well. Other than waiting for the Gatti Baldi winner this is the play.

Ok so considering this is business, are you going to tell me that Urkal would outdraw (cashflow) Judah, Mitchell or Williams?

If you were to assume that Hatton keeps the WBA Welterweight belt then I believe that Judah and Mitchell would be more lucrative than Urkal. (I'm discounting Williams because he's relatively new to the top of the division and at 6'1 wouldn't make much sense as a prospective opponent for Ricky at this stage). The trouble is that if Ricky was to take on Mitchell, Harris, Collazo, Judah etc he would be stripped of his belt resulting in a NON-TITLE fight. A 10 rounder. No 10-rounder is going to be as lucrative as a title fight for the champion. Not only that, the big carroty strap that Hatton can use to entice his opponents into the ring will be gone, so he would make less for future fights as well. Unless another fight came up which was for a title he would need a lot of money or prestige to be drawn into a non-title affair. As things stand there is no fight in the offing for a world title (PBF, Cotto at Light Welter, Baldomir-Gatti's winner) and there's no highly lucrative fight available either. He can either make mediocre money and be stripped or make mediocre money and keep his title.

I heard Castillo is still in the picture so my guess is its still all up in the air at the minute

oh and i still got around £500 for my accumulater bet they just discredited the Castillo pick from it and payed up so its all cool thought they may just give me my stake back when i heard but they payed up so im a happy saddo... ohhhhh its good to be back

Im seriously begining to doubt the 'Pulling Power' of Hattons Promotional team over in the states.
The Collazo fight was a double edged sword because after seeing Ricky BEAT a full blown
Welter who's wanna gonna touch him with a bargepole now?
And especially back down at Jnr Welter.
One other thing is....has Billy Graham really got the ability to take Hatton all the way to total World Domination.?
    Juries out IMO
