    Here's why...

    1) Toney hasn't looked dominant in his last couple fights

    2) Decision loss? That's qualification enough for a WBA title shot, ask Monte Barrett!

    3) He's tiny, he has a little pop and he's still a big name in boxing

IMO Toney-Valuev should and can happen
I'd rather see him fight Serguei Lyachovich.

James Toney is far from done.....Correct me if I am wrong but was that the 1st fight that Peter was in that he didn't atleast knock his opponent down once?? Toney got rocked sure SO has everyone else that Peter has ever fought including the BELOVED WLAD KLIT....Little Toney stood right in front of The monster and Jammed that jab down his throat and peppering 1, 2's down the pipe along with ripping body shots , Say what you will but Toney hurt Peter on 2 occasions pretty good accompolishment for a Middleweight champ...I hope Toney gets the same gate pass as Quartey, sure he lost to Forresst but the Fans and general public know who the true winner was, just like this instance Toney is still more marketable and a proved he belongs in the Heavyweight division...

By the way WHAT A FUKIN CHIN ON TONEY!!!!!!
I actually agree with Lyle I hope he ends up fighting Valuev and Boxing circles around him...

Like I said before despite how you may feel about James Toney as a person and his pre-fight antics, whats right is right and that Shat wasn't right...To me Toney more than validated even at 38 he still has the reflexes, Power and speed and 100x the craft and smarts then anyone in that division hope he gets another shot..

Fucking bullshit decision, Toney looked great, I thought he won by about 3 rounds and Peter lost a point as well!

Feel sorry for Toney, he stood toe to toe with the biggest puncher in the division, and man who Wladimir pawed and hugged his way to a nervous win.

Toney's stock went up with this fight, hopefully they will get a rematch on, it was a great fight.

CC, for that posting, you little hobbit, you...

Toney fought admirably. Going at it in that manner with Peter was a little mental but he got through and IMO won the fight....his jab was extremely effective....

    Great fight...

    Not a bother, Pal

Toney is a freak of nature isnt he 38 and taking on the biggest puncher out there. Absolutely mental, but you wouldnt want Toney any other way!!!

He's fat for gods sake and yet he can still perform against naturally bigger opponents...a class act!!

It's kind of ironic after his sub par performance against Rahman where he was very lucky to get a draw, that now in probably his best performance at heavyweight he gets a loss.

Even though he lost it wouldn't suprise me if he gets another title shot within 12 months. He won this fight convincingly in my opinion. I thought he did a better job than Wlad did.

Yeah little Toney that all the Klitheads laughed at, takes a better shot than their hero Wladimir. And he got screwed in the decision, but they don't care, they happy. It's bullshat alright. And I like Peter, but he just didn't win.

What's funny is that no one's really talking about Peter staggering & hurting Toney in 4 rounds. No one's talking about Toney holding the ropes because Peter battered him & was close to putting him down...
What's funnier is no one's really talking about Peter Rabit punching all night long. Peter's best shot is wide right hand thrown to the back of the head . If you see his fights he has a lot of these punches in every fight. The WBC should seriously do something about this, also Peter has a tendency to lock down a fighter with one hand and hit him with other.

Kudos to Toney, he made Peter look silly after all those wide misses. Peter looked puzzled on how to handle Toney. All in all I was expecting a majority decision for Toney.
Peter is the master of the 'rabbit-punch', a very dangerous and illegal blow, which strangely is his greatest punch. In fact, Peter should have been disqualified.
This is just another pathetic example of how corrupt this sport still is!!! Jose Suliman made another small-fortune on this one!!
James Toney is an amazingly gifted athlete, a throw-back to an era that defined the 'sweet-science'; any person that see's this as a victory for Peter simply isn't a boxing fan.

Sam Peter does hit behind the head an awful lot and someone needs to bitch slap him before he kills someone....I thought it was the IBF eliminator but it's the WBC...byebye Maskaev!

Don't be a hater.  Toney whipped Peter.  He wa clearly robbed and he'd probably come back and KO Peter if they would give him a rematch.  Peter knew that he didn't win it.  That's why he was kissing up to Toney.
LOL toney ko peter!!! hell he could'nt ko John Ruiz while he was on the juice yes he did get a tko over the ageing Evander Holyfield he was most likely on it then he should get help from JennyCraig so he can go back to the right weight class.

Sam's chin has been rocked before...I didn't see the Toney fight but heard he did good considering he was a middleweight at the start of his career

He was on Decca for a torn-bicep injury from a previous fight!! It's not as if he was on a stacking-cycle to bulk-up. Really strange how yet another BitchKO'd nutlicker throws stones from a glass house. Both of the Homochloes were on juice. Why do you think Dr. IRONPUSSY had to retire so early on?
Toney would school Klitschko. I hope Wladdy is stupid enough to take the fight.

    Agreed, Bagins

Toney dealt with an improved peter well. And yes he beat Peter in more convincing fashion than Wlad did.

Fighting Wlad would be a different deal completely, but I really wanna see Toney try it. Even if only for the spectacle...
