Come on!
Lacy was ripped as F*** going into that fight..
If he said he had conditioning problems id assume he was talking about his mental condition!
Toney was soft as my a*** in that fight.![]()

I agree come the fuk on! Roy wasn't half the fighter he'd become when he fought Hopkins and he did it with one hand and he fought and beat Toney in his first venture at super middleweight. If you're going to degrade Roy's Toney fight by saying Toney had weight problems. Chris Eubank had weight problems to make 168 to fight Calzaghe if you want to be technical so lets stop giving credit to Joe for that victory.Originally Posted by Hulk
You must have buns of steel then, cus Toney looked to be in pretty good shape to me. He wasn't ripped, but he rarely is or has been aside from the Adolpho Washington fight. Toney was just flat out beat, out slicked, out speeded, out gunned, out boxed. The point wasn't that Lacy was outta shape, he wasn't, just sayin that Toney used an excuse and it should not detract from Jones' win.Originally Posted by JimBoogie

Toney uses it as an excuse when he's hyping a fight. Otherwise he says that Roy beat him fair and square and hands down.Originally Posted by Hulk
But if credit is taken away from Roys victory against Toney because of weight issues. Then Calzaghe's credit should be taken away from beating Eubank who was also battling weight issues. He hadn't fought at Super Middle for the last 2 years and had weight issues going into that fight. Why do you think the rest of his fights after that one were at cruiserweight![]()
Okay Okay, i give in....!
I have buns of steele and im proud of it
But by the way.... You think the Calzaghe that beat Eubank was the same Calzaghe that beat Lacy?
Then i guess the argument is still open.
Im just not that bothered anymore to argue it

Eubank was dealing with alot of things, and he never was as good as TOney imo, and he was past his prime when he fought Calzaghe where as Toney was at his pinnacle when he fought Jones who was still rising.Originally Posted by P.G.H Angel Eyes
Bernard Hopkins was young but no where near his prime. He was a late bloomer. In a (Tarver Hopkins) pre-fight interview Hopkins said it best when he said Tarver didn't fight the same RJJ that he did and RJJ didn't fight the same Hopkins that Tarver was about to.Originally Posted by Lyle
For me, that basically raps up the whole "yeah but RJJ beat Hopkins argument"Originally Posted by lb4lb
