He looked pretty good huh, Do you think Holy could beat Valuev? If Holy was too fight Wlad, Wlad right now is my favorite, But if he(Holy) fought for title against Wlad, I would want Holy to win just where he would secure his legecy and 5 time champ. What do you think?
Wlad would have Holy out of there in 4. Valuev is being underestimated IMO....it will be a very difficult thing for Holy to beat him.

I wish Holyfield the best, but I cannot see him beating any of these champions....and it isnt even because they are any good....

How the judges could give it to "The Real Deal" is beyond my wildest imagination. Sure, he knocked Oquendo down in the first round, but it was a flash knockdown that did no damage. In fact, Fres may have won the rest of the round.

To win a fight, you need to let your hands go, throw punches and land a few. Holyfield did neither. You think Quartey and Forrest was bad? This goes right along side and the surprised look on Ronnie Shield's face when the decision was announced affirms that notion more than any words can.

In the first fight on the under card, one of the may unknown (at least to me) judges somehow voted in favor of Elizondo over Navarro (who won handily) and this was a precursor of what was to come. The only possible way for Fres to have won that fight would have been by knockout. In the main event, the judges had their minds made up from the get go..

While Fres may have not done much to enhance his reputation in San Antonio tonight, he did do one thing. He won the fight. Make no mistake of that.

This was a politically correct decision....and it was bile-inducing.

Although I didn't see the fight, I feel your pain! Especially if you forked over the dinero to order a fight which sounded like it was an utter stink-fest.
The insidious nature of boxing, especially in it's current state, is that a former all-time-great H.W. who's long past his best days has an opportunity to
get in the ring with a GOOD H.W. and get seriously hurt.

All the more reason why Don King is going to make the fight....Holyfield is remembered for his battles and his heart and chin....if James Toney can knock him down and just batter him then couldn't a 7'0 325 pound undefeated fighter do it better

I think that would be a good fight for both fighters at their current positions in their careers. Holyfield wants his last swing at glory by winning a title, and Valuev needs more credibility so beating a name fighter like Holyfield, even a Holyfield in the twilight of his career would be a very good win for him, and one that he would be expected to claim. Holyfield would still be a better test for Valuev than Monte Barrett, and a good tune-up for the Russian giant for a summer unification fight against one of the other champs.

And that is what King is betting on.....Nicolay Valuev is 33 he's had over 40 fights and he hasn't fought a guy in his top form YET!!!!

When is this charade going to end

IF.....(that's a big IF) he fights Shannon Briggs I hope to God Valuev is the favorite....he's going to get KO'd just trust me....I know you SEE him winning all these fights but read between the lines he has been absolutely NAILED by feather fisted punchers....Monte Barrett rocked him...Taras Bidenko wailed on his gigantic head...Otis Tisdale hit him flush with a right hand.....those guys don't crack like Briggs, Klitschko, or even Sam Peter (who if he worked on technique instead of winding up like he does and throwing WIDE punches could probably punch a hell of a lot harder)

I told everyone I would support his comeback as long as he wasnt getting blown out of fights and taking a severe beating....From what I read dosent seem to be the case.... I'm still on board with the The Real Deal

Compubox stats would tell the tale on tis one. I did not see EV land a combo all night. Not one.

Toney has speed and skills , plus Evander was fighting hurt. Valueve on the other hand is just big, its going to take a lot more then just being big to beat Evander ! in fact that alone is a disadvantage, as Valuve is just a target . Valuve gets knocked out fairly quick in my opinion

Compubox stats don't always tell the whole story. there are plenty of subplots !

It takes 2 two Tango. Oquendo put that gear in Reverse after he scraped himself off the canvas from the very first punch thrown by Evander in R 1.. Fres did not want to fight after that. Evander walked his man down , and put a sound beating on him, Really nobody looks good against Oquendo, talk about awkward style fighter !

Evander couldn't KO Fres Oquendo...Nicolay sucks but his chin isn't as bad as Fres'!

Valuev is big, he'll tire out the old man just like Danny Williams tired out Mike Tyson!

Valuve can take a punch from a featherduster! but what happens when Holyfield does this? thats the question ! I think Valuve is out , and don't get back up ! Holyfield 2007
