That's a good point...& maybe if I could see past my own hate for these two chumps I could agree...but I just can't stand either fighter.

Here's the thing...I'll watch it...just because I love seeing Mayorga knocked the fwock out...& that's what I'd be pulling for.

    LMFAO about grandma !

I don't know if I'm more exited about the press conference brawl or the actual fight.

Agreed man. Lets just hope this fight does get made, its not made yet, close but not yet. Mayorga must KO Vargas and will have a damn good shot at doing so, but Vargas could catch him too.

Answer: YES! And lets face it, its pretty much already over for both of em, this is just a novelty fight, no title, no real ranking at stake, specially if they go at it at MW. Mayorga and Vargas are fighting on the losers circuit now, it pains me to say it, but its true. Mayorga has more left though like you say, and should win his last big hurrah.

Good points man. I agree with Mick though, wasn't it supposed to be Vargas last chance against SSm the firs time, then the second time and now this fight too.....I don't see Vargas hurting Mayorga. You're right,it has not been made but I'm sure it will be,where else can they go? Both will get paid well for this one too. I just hope for Ricardo's sake it's at 154.

Is Mayorga really to big for 147?

Unfortunely, I don't see it gettin made at 154. Vargas's fat ass can't make 154 no more, which is sorta understandable since he was practically a career long Jr. Middle. So it'll probably be at 160, which lessens the power of Mayorga's looping shots even more. But against a shot Vargas, it shouldn't matter too much, Mayorga should still be able to KO him. Honestly I don't think Mayorga is too big for welter , just too damn lazy to get back down there where he fukin belongs. I love Mayorga, but Welterweight is where he belongs, not 154, certainly not MW. At 147 Mayorga was a killer, his punches were dynamite, but not so much at 154. Like I've said before it would have been awesome for Mayorga to get his butt back down to welterweight and bomb out Cintron for his title. Then maybe take on Collazo or Margarito. However, being the huge Mayorga fan I am, a Vargas matchup will defineately satisfy me if it gets made. It will rock.

Vargas can win this fight, If he does it is the best fight he ever won. The guy has been in good fights, but he never beat a great fighter

It wasn't "bad decision" close, but Ike had some really good rounds were he was controlling Vargas with his jab. I remember thinking that Vargas won the fight by a definite round or two.

To echo what the last few posters said, Vargas-Quartey was a close, exciting fight. But Vargas did win. I don't remember exactly how I scored it, but I assume I had it 7-5.

Vargas-Wright was close too, and I thought Vargas won that one as well. I lot of people say Winky was robbed, but I thought Winky froze up in the last few rounds and let Vargas outwork and outhustle him.

Well he fought 3 great fighters in Tito, ODLH & SSM.
And surely if Barry McGuigan is in the HofF then Yory Boy Campas is a shoe in.
Soooo he beat 1 out of 4 greats he fought.
Now Winky & Ike I'll leave that up to you and let you decide what to make of those 2 if they are future HofF or just 'really good' fighters.

Though I'm not a Vargas fan and have tooken stabs at him for the 'roid' usage, you gotta give him credit for fighting literally whomever they put in front of him.

I don't know who to pick in this one.

I think there both past it. But I think Vargas might be really shot, worse than Mayorga. But the weight suits Vargas better. At 147 Mayorga was a pretty good puncher, but his power has decreased as he's gone up and I really don't think much of it at 160. I think at that weight Vargas is the stronger guy, and more skilled.

Guess I'm leaning towards Vargas, although I dislike him and will be rooting for Mayorga.

Overall though, not that excited about it but it could end up being a good one.
