    I'll say this...

Yet another fighter who claims to be the best BUT is not willing to fight the best.

I think more importantly its the timing.. Joe probably will fight Taylor, Winky or Kessler before he retires but if he gets beat then it will be said its because the fight wasn't made soon enough!! The time is now Joe!! before injury forces your retirement!!

personally I hope Manfredo wins and not because I like him but because I think Joe deserves the loss!!

It's funny how Calzcrappy's groupies try and shift the blame to Warren and HBO. Calzcrappy is not there puppet. He has years in this game. He has say on who he fights. This bullshit fight should be blamed on one person. And one peson only. And that's Joe "I'm a fuckin coward" Calzaghe. And you British fans know it. That's why you guys are trying to slowly distance yourself from Calzcrappy and all of a sudden trying to hype up current "mediocre, future bust to be" Carl Froch.

Boxing's longest-reigning world champion Joe Calzaghe and Peter Manfredo, Jr., runner-up on the first season of "The Contender," will be officially announced at a news conference next Tuesday in New York City. Promoted by Sports Network, in association with The Tournament of Contenders, Calzaghe-Manfredo will take place Saturday, March 3 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. HBO will broadcast it in the United States. Calzaghe (42-0, 31 KOs) has successfully defended his WBO world title 19 times -- sixth-best on the all-time list -- since winning it in 1997. Manfredo Jr. (26-3, 12 KOs)is ranked #7 by the WBO and #8 by the WBC.
    Is it PPV?
I hear its going to be free but heavily edited. Apparently its in the contract that Manfredo gets to fight with an orchestral score behind him and its going to go slow motion when he lands some shots.

They are also going to have microphones hitched up to his wife Yamilka and daughter Alexis, so expect lots of panning to the crowd and my favourite bit a battle rousing 'Youre not done Yet!' speech from little Alexis to her Daddy to rally him at the end of the third round.

End of the fourth round will be Tommy Gallagher saying, You did your best son, you got nothing to be ashamed of'

Warren is the grand orchestrator...you know he could make it happen.
Fwank is a safety first, payday promoter. Something any good promoter should be doing. He's only intrested in lining his pockets. Not good for us, but you can't say he isn't stupid. At least GBP is intrested in the now rather than the future.

I'm in agreement with you VD my old buddy.

I think Joe is most interested in big paydays with the least amount of risk and effort.

I think you can list Calzaghes boxing priorities like this.

    1) Money,
    2) Protecting that 0
3)Not have to get on a plane
4)Not to have my nose broken and good looks damaged.

My guess is that this is a hight exposure fight. Not for the money, not for prestige, only for exposure.

What gets me is that he has the talent to beat the elite. Why would he be afraid with the talent he has? Is it because nobody wants to fight him?

Kessler just offered him a bigger purse than he's ever made so far. Plenty of other ppl calling him out.

You can't blame it on other ppl. You need to look at Joe and Fwank to find the source of the problem.

What's so hard to understand. The man's a fuckin coward. Accept it. Talented or not, when you turn down 3.4 million against the biggest threat in your division to fight a garbage fighter like Manfredo your showing true colors. And Calzcrappy's true colors are yellow.

I don't think its a case of him being scared/not willing to fight the best. Lacy was supposed to be the best, I just think he is looking for winable nailed on fights until he breaks Joe Louis' defence record. Hence Bika and Manfredo

Froch is going places and fast

Totally disagree with the three of you. I honestly think that you all need to review the body of Kessler's work before passing judgement.

The kid learns more & more from fight to fight & he seems to be getting stronger.

Froch is just to open & too green & you can only rely on power for so long.

Although Kess is a power puncher...he has been refining his defense...atleast he did against Beyer & he's gotten more accurate with his right hand. Kessler is becoming more complete.

Having believed in him is gonna be a bit of an embarrasment for you lot in the future.
    Agreed.
