I think that counts for something.![]()
nikolay vilauv
Cross, I think he gets a bum deal he bxed and beat some fair guys in his time. Jack Sharkey Ernie Schaaf Paolno Uzcudum Tommy Loughran Walter Nuesal all good fighters He lost to a fit Max Baer and got stopped past his best by Joe Louis in 6 at a time when skill beat size, dont forget there were big guys about then. Overall I dont think history has been to kind to him

If John Ruiz and Frank Bruno where heavyweight champs, then so where:
Francesco Damiani
Tommy Morrison
Michael Bentt
Herbie Hide
Henry Akinwande
They too had alphabet trinkets
I try not to recognise the WBO belt; it's bad enough with the other 4 belts.Originally Posted by lance Uppercut

Who was the worst Heavyweight Champion ever?
Think my list would be
1. Nikolay Valuev
2. Leon Spinks
3. Jim Braddock
4. James Buster Douglas
5. Frank Bruno
6. Shannon Briggs
7. Pinklon Thomas
8. Corrie Sanders
9. Mike Weaver
10. Michael Dokes
I think its little unfair to list Mike Weaver but maybe thats just me because i like Weaver, he gave Larry Holmes one hell of a fight and was on the verge of stopping him at one point, Dokes was a skilled fighter with quick hand speed but drug problems wasted his talent, And Bruno was ahead in all of his losses except the Tyson fight but fair point and thats pretty solid list. I think some other fighters are more deserving on that list like John Tate, Primo Carnera, Gerrie Coetzee, Michael Bentt, John Ruiz, etc.

What are looking at here. Are we talking he worst skill wise or the worst fight desicions. I mean if that were the case you would have to name the "Lost Generation" of heavyweight's like Mike Weaver,Gerrie Coetzee,Greg Page and my man Witherspoon etc.As for some of the people on the list here I see Jim Braddock now that there is a movie out you really had to pay attention to it.Max Baer was considered to be a very dangerous fighter and the way he went in there and unlike what the movie says he infought the hell out of Baer.Baer had no idea how to handle someone putting their head on his chest and fighting in close. In my mind Jim Braddock was a genius in that fight. The other is Mike Weaver remember the shot heard round the world in boxing to me and many was the right hand he knocked Tate out cold with.Weaver also beat Gerrie Coetzee very underated fighter in my mind, James Tillis, also Carl the truth Williams who was considered very dangerous.
