Kerry Kayes (his nutritionist) is an absolute genius, ricky can eat as much as he wants in camp, it just has to be what kerry tells him to eat, and he always makes the weight. This fight will be no excecption, you'll see it in his body language at the weigh in he's 100%.
Wouldn't you say his camp let him down slightly by convincing him to move up to welterweight? Or by landing two really pointless fights to start off his US debut( the first one which only served to establish Collazo and give Hatton a huge scare).. I agree with you about the weight though he probably will be fine... Also, I don't think a nutritionist exactly needs to be a genius, it's really not rocket science eating well, most people just don't do it. I doubt you'll find many boxers who have a "bad" nutritionist, it's just whether they follow what he recommends.

His camp didn't convince him to move up to weltweweight. It was HBO who wanted it and it was Ricky himself who decided to go ahead with it. Billy Graham warned him against it. Especially to fight Collazo. In his autobiograpy Hatton explains all this and admits that he was trying to be 'Mr Big Bollocks' by fighting up at welter when he can easily handle light-welter.

Same thing with the choice of opponent. Cotto were both signed to fight others, Baldomir priced himself out, Gatti had just been beaten by Floyd/signed to fight baldi, Lazcano ws then signed but broke a finger and Collazo was the only fighter HBO would accept on the date given (13th may). Hatton didn't want to lose that date as he had already been inactive since November 05.

Oh and if 'eating well' is so god damm easy how come you see so many fat fwocks claiming they hardly eat anything? When Hatton starts running out of steam in the ring and underperforming fitness wise, only then should we start commenting on his lifestyle, because to put it simply..i have never seen a fitter fighter. If he loses to Urango next week, it won't be because of his fitness.

To those saying 'Ricky is in great shape... there's no fat on him'... having a low body fat is not a good thing.

His face looks more like Morale's face than the Hatton I recognise... time to stop taking the piss between fights or move up. Doesn't matter if he has been able to do it for 10 years or not... I've trained at as hard as I can for 1-2 hours every day for a week on top of the labouring job I had at the time... think I could keep that up every week?

    Not as simple as that.

I think if there was any possibility that Ricks between fights lifestyle was having a serious effect on his making weight it would have been curbed by now. As things are he is making the target weights he is set along the way and having no trouble on the scales. Sure he couldnt keep it up for ever, but he openly doesnt plan to, two maybe three years (which means roughly six more times) and that will be it.

Personally I think he looks nothing like a man thats struggling. He looks like he is happy, in shape, and he looks like he's been thumped in the eye a good few times by a big Iranian.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Heart, Liver, Kidneys, brain are all effected by dramatic weight gain and loss.. Hoping he moves up to 147 soon for good, it will insure better health and less stress on his internal Organs in the long run

Sorry Dan have to disagree with you about how he looks... He looks Emaciated, Example In the Tsyzu weigh in pics you can see Ricky has a real young almost Baby Face, Now Rickys body is starting to Mature more just like anyone of us will and you can see he has more of a look like a grown man in recent pics even before those pics that are posted, which means his body mass will increase and will be harder for him to lose weight ask Corralles, Castillo etc.. Its just not healthy for the long haul
I know what you mean JT, recent examples of what you said there where you start to mature, which leads to you missing the scales are Jorge Barrios, Chico and Castillo, Scott Harrison, and it all starts around this kind of age. I think his camp will know when its time to move, Kerry Kayes knows the human body and nutrition like the back of his hand as a former bodybuilding champ and coach, the second they smell that the battle is against the scales they'll do the right thing, for now I think he'll be fine.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

I agree he looks...different somehow, not as muscular or something...but he does reportedly look really good in sparring, which is a good thing.
He always does . You'll never see Ricky looking bad in training . Everytime ive seen him he looks fast aggressive and sharp . Some fighters though leave their best form in the gym . Others save it for the fight . Nigel Benn was never a fan of gym wars . Holyfield looked crap in sparring b4 the 1st Tyson fight and we know how well he performed in that one . So I dont know how much to read into Rickys current form . Atleast it shows he is physically sharp and the weight has come off well .
