In the end...it is what it is & Lewis took the win.

Not convincingly, IWO, but he did win the fight.

There are so many factors in this fight that screamed for a rematch that it was pathetic...about as pathetic as it is to still be argueing over the fight all these years gone by.

Anywho...I think that Vitali was winning the fight...I know that he was...the cards were correct...but Lewis did come on at the end. Thing about it is this...both fighters were under prepared...that's what many seem to let slip from the brain.

Had there been a rematch with both fighters prepared...I'd pick Vitali.

I was a huge Lewis fan. Always was & I always will be...but Vitali had some advantages that many heavies did not...he was awkward as hell & had one of the better jabs out there.

Lewis's skills were just as commendable...but Vitali seemed KO proof & as ugly as his style was...it was damned effective.

Truly I say that Vitali was winning the fight...but the fact remains...anyone could see that the cut (from the thumb...not a punch per say) could have been career ending.

Live to fight another day. I hate it that Lennox offered a rematch & then bailed on it...but it was the smart thing to do as far as saving his career because Vitali would have beat him...as far as I am concerned.

    Lewis won the fight. Period.

Vitali could of destroyed Lennox in THAT fight imho.

    What do you think?

yes i had vitali ahead on points also. However, had the fight continued i see lewis eventually wearing his man down and KO......they both gave as good as they got!

Truth is I don't even know why this is a topic??

Like Wacko said Lennox won Period!!

I could see if this was something like a butt causing it to go to the cards and Lennox won a narrow dec or something but it was a TKO caused by a punch...

How many times have we seen a fight where a guy was getting his A$$ kicked and at the end pulled out a KO or TKO?.....No one questions that......Vitaly did not have a slight cut above the eye where it was questionable whether or not the fight should be stopped and it was on the side of over cautiousness...This was a hell of a damn cut...a top 5 that I have ever seen....70 STICHES!!!! do you realize how many thatis for a cut above an eye?

If Vitaly would have lost his eye the topic would be "Should they have stopped the Lewis Klitschko fight?"

And with no question it was that severe of a cut
