Agreed. Beating this twice-dominated and exposed, fat, old, and retired version of Trinidad truly adds nothing to Mayweather's resume. He'd probably be a 5-1 favorite. Totally pointless.

Someone like floyd has already made enough money to live well for the rest of his life. Money should not be an issue, pride and a long legacy should be.

I don't think it's bad for the legacy. How can you just say that? If Trinidad gives him a good fight like Oscar did, then we would not be beating an easy fighter. I do agree that Trinidad will probably not be as prepared as Oscar was for this fight. So I see him losing to Floyd easily. But then again...it all depends on Trinidad's preparation for the fight. I would love to see him KO Floyd though...and I'm no Trinidad fan.

I don't think he necessarily wants to beat a Puerto Rican. Where does that come from?

Why does he want to beat a Puerto Rican so bad? Is he a dirty racist?

There are too many posts in this thread to quote on what I'm about to say.

I really don't understand why people say if Floyd fought Spinks, Miranda, Pavelik, Ouma or any other names like this would gain him respect and look good for his career. All of these men are almost men and will not make Floyd any money. I'm not a Mayweather fan and I really would like to see him get KO'd but I respect his skills. Surely if you people are begging for him to cement his legacy, he should go out and beat another big name, because beating any of the above will not change the criticism against him.

If he moves to Middle and fights Miranda and wins, everyone will just say he has to be Taylor or Winky to prove himself. If he beats Ouma or Spinks, everyone will beg him to fight Mosley, Tito or Quartey to prove himself. The names u guys are putting about will gain nothing for him.

I really don't see floyd going to middleweight to fight anyone that's in the prime of their career. It's too ballsy of a move and we know how Floyd is about taking risks. Floyd would move up on my list a ton if he fought the winner of Margarito/Williams. After that, fight Cotto or Hatton if they're still undefeated. I think those two fights alone would give him the respect he thinks he's due.

Don't know if he's over 200lbs but he is 5ft 11inch with a big frame but he could get back to 160 if he did it over 6 month and be strong

Did everyone forget the Tito-Winky fight? Tito is completely shot. He's done. Mayweather would win every single round against him, and should get no respect for doing so. It wouldn't be "beating another big name" -- it would just be beating a shell of a fighter. Should he go after Sugar Ray Leonard next?

Is Floyd trying to insult the intelligence of boxing fans?! Tito?! Maybe Floyd should call out Duran, Leonard, or Hagler from retirement. I love how Floyd tries to play us by saying weight is not an issue...implying that by beating a shot, slow fighter at a higher weight would prove his point. My gosh...why is he trying so hard to be one of the most unpopular and least exciting champions of all time?!
