I don't consider Holmes near as good of a fighter as Ali....the jab was ok, his power, Eh....I mean who had an iron chin that he beat

Tex Cobb

There's no danger in Tex Cobb other than he'll take your power.
Louis beat A TON of fighters....25 title defenses vs anyone and everyone, Tyson's division was almost as weak and he couldn't even come close to that!
Marciano's style was awkward and despite of his lackluster technical skills he could land what he wanted to when he wanted to do it
Also just a clarification I said they would have a good chance vs Tyson....those guys were GREATS they'd have a good chance vs pretty much anyone
Yes Holmes made mistakes everyone does but he was fantastic boxer in his prime Ali had better speed and footwork than Holmes but stamina chin and power is about the same imo but i believe Holmes would have better chance than Rocky and Dempsey and even Louis because Louis was to flatfooted Rocky and Dempsey were to easy to hit and are also flatfooted i just don't see them beating Tyson in all honesty Lyle.
Its just a shame Holmes didn't have Ali's competition would of been great to have seen him in early 70s against the greats.
Well IMO Norton beat Ali 2-1 and well, Holmes beat Norton with one arm
It took Holyfield 12 rounds to deal with Holmes yet he dispatched Tyson inside the distance. That means something to me.
It means Holmes was a wiley, cagey mofo when he wanted to be. In his pirme, sharp n powerfull he would of ruined Tyson over 12 rounds.
'Just ask Buster Douglas'
I like Tyson against alot of these fighters mentioned. Especially the older generation (Pre '65). Size issues n all that.
For me, to be a Tyson beater you have to be big. You have to be 1st and you have to be able to spoil.
Lewis & Holmes defo
Bowe & Ali probably
Foreman maybe
The rest. Phh! No way mate
