Just read this :

Floyd Mayweather against Ricky Hatton would be a tremendously popluar fight with success in the money making department. Although the fight would pan out rather straight forwardly and would be a decisive victory to Floyd. Ricky's brawling tactics have brought him success over the course of his career, but these tactics will not be able to be implemented against the great balance of Floyd, who has the best defense in the world, with the ability of moving out of the toughest places in the ring.

It would be nearly impossible for Hatton to implement the brawling tactics on a fast and ever moving Floyd who would simply fight on the outside for the entirety of the fight. Thus leading to Floyd winning by a unanimous points decision. The only way Floyd could loose against Hatton would be for him to attempt to beat Hatton at his own game in brawling and fighting on the inside which would be a plain disaster, which Floyd would well know.

Hatton is a great champion but he is not at the level of Floyd and i simply don't think he ever will be. Floyd has the edge on this fight, but as with boxing anything can happen, and if Floyd has a brain freeze and his ego gets in the way trying to dominate Hatton at his own game, then i think Floyd could register his first loss and possibly through a stoppage. As for pre fight analysis Floyd has to have the advanatage.

You have a point, a very good point. But it's not as clear cut as you make it out, let's be honest here, the first Castilio v Mayweather fight was close and as Castilio was the aggressor I would have given the fight to Castilio, yes I agree. defensively Maywaeher is brilliant, but I've always considered Boxing to be aggresive and going forward. Yes there's alot of skill involved in defense, but a offensive fighter who can also not be hit is Perfect, ie the great Roberto Duran - and yes I will challenge ANYBOBY in this forum who thinks Maywaether would have beaten a prime Duran, Duran would have eaten him alive and then spat him out.

If I were Mayweather, I would probably do the same. I think there will be more action than the DLH PBF fight. Hatton is easier to hit than DLH, but Hatton throws more than DLH.

Hatton holds when he gets in which might cause Mayweather the same problems Castillo did. However I believe with a good ref Hatton will not or should not be able to hold that much against Mayweather or suffer penalties as well Mayweather shouldn't be allowed to push off or use his elbows.

I have watched the fight a few times.

It's easy to dismiss boxers holding and clinching but a lot of the time especially in the early rounds they are feeling each other out, seeing who is strongest etc. Hatton is brilliant at inside fighting, particularly throwing a hook/uppercut at the point of break. IT'S AN ART!

Watch it again without commentary and see if Castillo wasn't playing his part in the holding until Hatton started getting to his ribs, even the HBO commentary picked up he had started pulling his elbows in

Lets hope we get more of the same with young Floyd

Having re watched the Mayweather v Burton fight that someone kindly posted i think Floyd could handle Ricky inside and out. Floyd defense in that fight was so good he protected his body with his elbows and quickly fired off combo's and his speed was phenomenal.

I also suggest you watch Jesus Chavez vs Floyd Mayweather similar fighter and similar style to what Hatton will do Chavez was throwing 100+ punches a round in most rounds in one of the rounds he threw 96 punches only landed like 7 i don't think Mayweather will have that much trouble with Hatton to be honest i think the fight will be stoppage win for Mayweather in about 10 rounds.
