Heavyweight ATG lists are always interesting so I thought I'd revive the top10 list according to the late Nat Fleischer. There are some surprises here!! Fleischer lived through the Ali,Frazier era and was known to state that "Ali would not make his top ten ATG heavyweights".
    1 Jack Johnson
    2 James.J.Jeffries
    3 Bob Fitzsimmons
    4 Jack Dempsey
    5 James.J.Corbett
    6 Joe Louis
    7 Sam Langford
    8 Gene Tunney
    9 Max Schmeling
10 Rocky Marciano.......can't agree with that list
Fleischer tho did see them all fight.
Ring Magazine came up with this list
    1 Joe Louis
    2 Jack Dempsey
    3 James.J.Jeffries
    4 Jack Johnson
    5 Rocky Marciano
    6 Gene Tunney
    7 Bob Fitzsimmons
    8 James.J.Corbett
    9 Muhammad Ali
    10 Joe Frazier...............circa 1972
Lewis certainly deserves a top 10 ranking.

Talk about taking the side of the old timers i mean having Ali that low and Jack Johnson that high is a joke in my eyes

And with some thought i have changed my list a bit it is as followed
    1. Muhammad Ali
    2. Larry Holmes
    3. Joe Louis
    4. Lennox Lewis
    5. George Foreman
    6. Sonny Liston
    7. Joe Frazier
    8. Mike Tyson
    9. Gene Tunney
    10. Rocky Marciano

I thought about it alot and has George done more then Lewis in the case of careers i mean this is how it stock

Foreman total title defences 5 Lewis total title defences 15

Most notable wins Most notable wins

    Frazier twice Evander Holyfeild
    Norton Mike Tyson
    Lyle Mercer
    Moore Morrison
    Tucker
    Grant
    McCall
    Bruno
    Tua
    Klitschko

I know that George was in the best era but Lewis was right behind his era in competion and it seems to me that he did better in his career and i think it can be argued that Lewis is above him in Foreman but that is just my opinion on that

How could you possibly consider Mercer , Morrison, Tucker, Grant, McCall , and Tua notable wins?? Lewis beat an Ultra-Faded Mike Tyson and a mediocre Evander Holyfield that wasn't ever that good in the first place.

Lewis did beat Vitali by cuts, but we all know how that fight was gonna end I guess Frank Bruno was pretty good for an English fighter, but not near the level of any of the fighters you mentioned as Foreman's noteable wins.

To have Lewis ahead of Foreman is laughable

The names that you listed for Foreman's big wins tower over any of Lennox Lewis's. Lennox did beat a washed up Evander Holyfield, but would have lost to him in his prime.

Do you think that George Foreman at any point in his career ever would have been knocked out by Oliver McCall or Hasim Rahman?? Not even super old Foreman would have, but young Foreman would have slaughtered both of them something fierce

I think dominance edges prominence every time.

The thing is. Lewis proved himself to be a dominant champion. Not only that, but the way he rebounded from his losses will always be memorable.

Foreman absolutely destroyed Frazier (In my opinion the most impressive Heavyweight win) but as a champion, he's reign was short lived as was his confidence. It took him years to fully rebound. That achievement is a blessing and a curse IMO.

Young was good fighter he lost close decision to Norton had a draw with Shaver's in which many thought he won and made Ali look terrible but was robbed by the judges and took Foreman's best shots and comeback at him flooring him in the 12th Lewis would struggle to land any punches on Young and it would be a hard fight for Lewis make no mistake about it.

Don't let his record put you off Young was a hot and cold fighter but Young at his prime would give Lewis trouble.
