I guess that means that DLH would have beaten floyd in his prime and convincingly since floyd got a split decision against him. DLH had 1 fight in like 3 years leading up to that against a guy with zero defence and you could clearly see he wasn't sharp against floyd.
My point is you can't assume anything and the fights have to be fought. You mention a guy like Cotto, who has better wins at Welter, and floyd's fans try to laugh it off like floyd is too good to even bother.
All you have to do is look at their common opponents and see who won more impressively.
The SD vs Oscar De La Hoya was total crap i had Mayweather winning easily by 4 points, at Super Featherweight Oscar De La Hoya would have never ever have beaten Mayweather. You forget Mayweather was fighting at a weight class he had never fought at before.
I'm not forgetting anything. I'm making a point. I had floyd winning by a larger margin than the judges as well but you can't discount DLH's inactivity. That made a huge difference in the fight and was my reasoning for picking floyd to win rather easily which I think he did.
As far as the DLH never would have beaten him comment, you can't say that because you just don't know for sure.
You are the best in here as far as bringing up prior posts and remembering things guys say so you should know that I'm not one of these guys that say guys from that era would have beaten guys from this era and so on and so forth. The bottom line is that those guys made their names by fighting the best available and they deserve all the respect they get.
