It's obvious the reason PBF came out of retirement. He's Jealous of Pacquiao. Although there may also be some truth that Floyd Jr is back for money.

It's almost a pity to see Floyd struggling to get strokes but I get a kick out of watching him squirm to keep his composure. He has to belittle the accomplishments of others with back handed complements to make his own accomplishments seem greater than they are. And at the same time its seems he has to appear to have etiquette. He wants all the accolades for himself and can't stand it when they are given to others so much so when people are giving him credit it's unclear to him.

Pacquiao's popularity demands that his fights are televised for free. Thats what 20 or 30 Million homes? Does Floyd's fights get put on every movie theater in every screen in the country? Pacquiao got a 50/50 or so ppv share from the UK fighting Hatton.... how many did Mayweather Jr. get? No one can truly say that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the biggest draw in Boxing today.

Mayweather Jr. will continue to draw attention to himself because he needs it. The next 5 or 6 months we will continue to hear this same crap coming out of Floyd's mouth. He won't be able to help himself because until people start writing he is P4P #1 again. He won't stop campaigning for it. So if you're reading this Little Floyd, Campaigning for the P4P title doesn't work! You have to win people over by what you do in the ring and not what you say you do.

Did you ever hear Pacquiao say he way the number one pound for pound fighter in the world?

So when Floyd was asked "Why did you come out of retirement?" his response is "Why not?" my response to Floyd is "Because you have nothing more to prove!" Or do you?

BTW: I rank Floyd at P4P #3 right behind Marquez until he proves he's #2.

If you rank Mayweather behind Marquez than that would make Mayweather number 2. Not 3

If only the Philippines has a good economy like the US or UK, the PPV numbers would swell in favor of Pac. The numbers of ODLH and Gay would mean nothing.

Maybe 1/3 of the population will buy PPV. About 30 million buys per fight for Pac.

Give me the link of that $6M offer...

    No problem

    Pac coward out.

Good job on the links, thanks...

As far as I can remember there was already a plan for PAC to fight David Diaz even before the PAC-JMM rematch fight... JMM was just lucky he was given a chance by PAC to have a rematch even if PAC had already problems making 130 lbs... Arum planned to monopolized the PAC-Diaz fight since both boxers are under his promotions...

By fighting Diaz, PAC earned his 5th division title and also got considerable amount of money in the process... I think PAC also earned $6M in the Diaz fight...

1)Marquez chickened out on the initial Pac Rematch to face John in Indonesia for a crap cheque.

2)PBF chickened out when Margarito confronted him face to face for a match.

3)PBF is continuing to chicken out against other legitimate Welterweights, yet wants to fight a natural 135 pounder at Welterweight.

4)Pac Faced JMM 2 times. The first fight was made when both Barrera and Morales wanted no part of JMM.

But yeah ... 50/50 should be the way to go.

Running away from a 3rd fight with Marquez is not how you earn respect. Considering Pac really has 5 losses it should be 70-30 Mayweather

Arum knows that Floyd is a stylistic nightmare for Pac therefore he is trying in advance to put the spoilers on the fight.

How about the links that come from only Pinoy sources that JMM was avoiding Pac many years ago? Can you provide some links that are not from Manila?

I bet there are more pac fans in Michigan than PBF fans. Manny deserve higher pay because he always generate exciting fights.

if thats the case katsidis should be a huge draw...people still want to see the best perform. And floyd is technically the best boxer in the sport hands down.

i'd be surprised if this fight doesn't get made with the split down the middle, not unless if marquez plays spoiler.

Floyd deserves no less than 50:50 IMO, and if anything a higher stake in his own favour. Sweet Pea articulated why very well on the first page of this thread.

Arum gets excited too quickly about making money. He fukd up buy overstating pac/hat ppv numbers. If PBF/PMM has a super mega showing (800k+ ppv), Arum has a tough sell for 50/50 with Mayweather. If PBF/PMM has a less than mega showing (<300k) then 50/50 showing it might be a hard sell to a 50/50 to Pacquiao.

Fighters get what they deserve, not what we perceive they deserve or want. If a fighter can sell himself inside and outside the ring he can do better. Than a fighter that only sells inside the ring.

Marquez is getting the smaller size purse against Mayweather because he doesn't sell himself outside the ring. Inside the ring he shows all heart and that is big sell in anyones book.

GBP, MP, JMMP are all out there selling PBF/JMM fight. Mayweather is hyping himself against Pacquiao to boost the PBF/JMM fight because Pacquiao brings more to the table than JMM. Since the buzz about PBF/PAC is so big PBF/JMM will do better than the original projection. Does PAC deserve a part of PBF/JMM because his name is being used to hype the fight? If they were really smart they might be able to work out a kick back to hype the show even more the same way WWF does (Not sure of it's the right wrestling acronym), but the three seem to need each other to battle Pacquiao, rather than working with him. Or perhaps its not Pacquiao but Arum?

50/50 is fair and to be honest though PBF is horrible at PPV sales this will be the first fight in my memory where the two best P4P ranked fighters really fight to see who is the best P4P!!!!

This money quibble is just politics and will subside

All I know is that I hate these squabbles over purses. Personally I would make it a 70:30 deal and the winner takes the 70! Obviously I am not a promoter....

Screw it, how about the winner takes all and the loser gets a pat on the back?
