Van Damme OWNED the box office for a good period! No one can deny him of that. Bloodsport is just as classic as it gets. One of my favorite films ever! Bar none it's the best Van Damme movie but Kickboxer and Universal Soildier were awesome movies of his as well.

Sad but true. I really never could figure out the Van Damme love; his acting was horrible most of the time and the fight scenes were so amateurish as to be absurd. I did like Kickboxer though, good story; Tong Po was scary That scene of him kicing the tree over and over was great. And Double Impact was actually very original with storyline and he did good in that. Bloodsport in concept was great but too bad they couldn't have found someone else to play the role, guess there wasn't anyone else.

Of course; I like Chuck Norris and that's a terrible thing to have to admit to At least he was a real fighter back in the day.

Jet Li is awesome and brought a fierceness to the screen.

Bloodsport was indeed awesome - can never remember at the time if it got a cinema release or straight to video ??

They gave it the big Hollywood remake gloss a few years later - The Quest - never saw it and dont really want to...

Agree on the Bourne Films, but Blood Diamond an action film?? It had a bit more to it for it to be labelled an action film.

You should watch JCVD, Van Damme's acting is actually pretty damn good in that, I think in the older films you just didn't have workable scripts or directors who cared about anything other than the fight scenes.

Amazed that no-one has mentioned the 'Cage Classics' of the mid 90s, The Rock, Con Air & Face/Off

I love The Rock, and Face/Off, but I didn't like Con Air.

It's been a long time since I've seen Con Air, but if I remember right, didn't they have the Las Vegas strip all wrong in the ending? Unless, I'm thinking of another movie, but that really bothered me.

Hell Yea! I was going to post something about that movie but I had to rush cause I was late for church. JCVD is a great movie and Van Damme had an epic monologue. It was approximately 6 minutes long with no cuts! I gave him A LOT more respect after watching that movie.

Same here i loved The Rock, Face/Off. But i didn't like Con Air as much, Nicholas Cage with that southern accent. Made his lines sound so cheesey, still not a bad flick though and Steve Buscemi is great in it.

I've heard people say that is better thanThe Matrix. It's one that has been on my Must Buy list for a long time, but keeps getting pushed to the back of the line.

Have you seen the factory scene in Dragons Forever? Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao just rocking everyone in their way! Classic!

No subtitles but you don't need to know what the hell they're saying anyway.

The playground scene in Police Story 2 is sick! I like the fight in the mall in Police Story 1. So violent!

Nice one, I saw Dragons Forever years ago great fight scenes also. I had read about that Benny fella in magazine articles by Chan, I bet he is one tough bastard.
