You ever hear the expression the proof is in the pudding Miles? So you can be bitter all you want dude but it looks like quite a few signs are pointing to Mayweather/Marquez near or over 1million buys.

That is a HUGE success for Floyd and HBO, especially with so many sports on TV and a UFC PPV going on. Boxing isn't anywhere NEAR dead, so MMA haters please shut your mouths. Honestly, I was thinking "ehhh, 500K" but this proves that Floyd is a PPV attraction. There is no more question. When the dude says he's "Money" he's got the proof. He basically sold this PPV off of his name. Marquez's following helped out but Pac-MArquez 2 only did like 500K. Mayweather is finally signed, sealed, and delivered as a true PPV superstar. I don't believe these numbers coz I work in a liquor store where most of the ppv buyers stopped by first before the fight. I just don't see the buzz before & after the fight. More than half of the regular ppv buyers that I know told me they didn't ordered it.

I thought I did post here, so either my post has been deleted or like a dumbass, I forgot to press "submit reply" and closed the window.

Personally, I think that 1.6 millions is overspeculation, especially when the only person saying it is an analyst from Yahoo who isn't that much of an insider. Pure speculation and I doubt Mayweather did drag so much attention for 2 reasons:

1) the crowd was more or less 80% Marquez supporter at the fight.
2) they had to postponed the fight because it wasn't selling enough. I can imagine and agree that the 24/7 did a lot to boost the interest but from there to make it a total flop to the biggest success thinkable... I really doubt so.

My personal pick would be around 500 000 buyers, not much than that. WE will have the official numbers in the meantime but I am absolutely certain, personally, that the number will convince anybody that Mayweather doesn't deserve half of the purse, especially when Manny (which I am not a fan, by the way) is the one dragging audience and attention.

UFC is followed by those who watch a combination of WWE, jackie chan and more often than not people who take themselves way too seriously. How many times have i read stuff along the lines of on a UFC forum...

Boxing is a mans sport. If you like beer, women and have a large social circle of friends you tend to be a boxing fan. If however you find yourself spending your friday evenings online chatting about the latest episode of dragonball z and can list at least 20 shaolin movies then your a faggy UFC wannabe!!!!!!
