As for Ali, that's good of you ICB, not to buy into the hype. I think he was a great fighter, but I can't think of him as THE GREATEST OF ALL-TIME. That pisses some people off, but I feel other fighters acheived more than he did, maybe he was dealt a bad hand with the Vietnam War and all but just because he was an icon of the Black counter culture right next to MLK and Malcom X doesn't mean he's automatically the greatest fighter of all time. He was blessed with good opponents and he was physically bigger than all of them and they all had pretty limited styles at that time. The opponents Ali fought were either plodding sluggers like Foreman and Frazier or boxers with little to no power.
Exactly...ali fought a bunch huge sluggers. And he used his at the time athletic ability to beat them. I agree that he is one of the best heavy's of all time..but p4p Roy would kick his ass.

Roy coming in at 185-190 against 205-210 ali. Roy would murder his ass.

Roy wasn't anywhere near natural at that weight though he added loads of muscle, I actually have a DVD of him with a new trainer and how he put his weight on for his fight at HW. He used loads of weight training which hampered his speed come fight time, luckily Ruiz was still way slower than him.

Ali on the other hand made his weight being in great "NATURAL" shape and was very comfortable at HW. And as for his competition NO other HW champ has ever had such a great resume IMO.

Foreman, Frazier, Liston would be in anyone's top 10 heavies, and Ali fought them at their best. No other heavyweight could say the same thing.

It's one that was in my Roy Jones career set. How easy is it to upload stuff off DVD onto youtube? If it's not rocket science I might put it on!!

Yes they were great fighters, but given Ali's skill set they weren't best suited to fight them is all I am saying....Liston doesn't make my top 20 heavies

The only way Roy Jones beats a Muhammad ALi and Mike Tyson is through the association game.

RJJ beat Ruiz whom beat Holyfield whom beat Tyson whom beat Holmes whom beat Ali.

So there you have it. Roy Jones beat not only Mike Tyson but also Muhammad Ali. If you take the association game further he even beats Foreman, Frazier, Liston, Patterson, and most HW greats.

then surely Wlad and Vitali shouldn't be anywhere close either....

I think that Liston and the Klits all land around the 15-20 mark personally!

How many successful title defenses did Liston make?......THANK YOU. Wladimir and Vitali are hands down better than Liston, you think THEY have a weak division, Liston's biggest wins were over a blown up light heavyweight.

Also somebody brought up Floyd Patterson....that would be a fair match to make for RJJ. Same style as Tyson but a little smaller.

Name me a fighter that would have given Ali problems enough to beat him, out of interest.
