I don't think taking a beating for 12 rounds is anything to be proud of to be honest.

I think people really are too into the "you never got me down Ray" mentality because everyone wants to be a warrior.

A warrior is a warrior because they can be nothing else, even Arturo Gatti once he learned how to box tried not to take punishment in his fights. Some fighters would like to have a brain left when their career is done and be able to play with their children whilst not being punch drunk or having brain damage.

Sure taking a beating for 12 rounds may prove you're a "warrior" to a bunch of fans who ultimately do nothing for your life but fill your pockets and once the fight is over so are they. And when you are in your mid 40s but can barely do anything or barely talk right or are punch drunk the only thing those fans are good for is talking about how sorry they are at how your life turned out because you were a true "warrior".

So getting starched in one and getting critisized is better in the long run then taking a beating for 12 rounds ending up punch drunk but hey at least people will still call you a 'warrior'

Honestly, I think the whole warrior thing is overrated.

if you don't believe me ask Gerald McClennan, or ask Billy Collins' or Leavander Johnston's parents rather they'd wished their child was knocked out by one punch in the first round rather then taking a beating for 12 rounds and had they been knocked out in one round as opposed to the other maybe you'd be able to ask them yourself.
Hey I agree with you but I dont think it is something for Khan to brag about......When you get starched in one round by a nobody, it is best to keep that to yourself, not tweet about it.

How would you rather lose a fight?

Fuck it, I say a Mike Tyson disqualification from biting someone's ears. He didn't get his ass kicked for 12 rounds or getting sparked out cold. So if one is going to lose might as well not take a beating or get that instant 1 shot ko, plus someone like Mike got paid 30 million for it.

A Mike Tyson DQ for the win!

Depends on how much punishment I take in the 12 rounder marquez didn't take much Lacy did. as being brutally knocked out in quick fashion can also ruin a fighter, look at Roy Jones.

I think I have misunderstood the question, I thought as a fan what or a preson what would you rather do, which I am sure everyone would rather go 12 for a pride point of view and the fat you would be ridiculed for getting KTFO.

If I was a fighter and for my career I would think about getting ko'd more as being better for my career but I don't think I could ever prefer to be knocked out.

I'm in the minority here I guess but i believe that being outclassed and beaten up is worse physically and psychologically then just getting caught. Those grueling beat downs end careers look at Chavez Taylor.

i'd wait for him to hit me in the stomach and go down for a pretend ko, where i just looked a little winded and not able to beat the count, but not humiliatingly so.

    That sounds humiliating enough.

heh heh. Yeah. its the lesser humiliation though. I'd rather suffer something like morales's fate in his third fight against pacquiao than hattons.
