No, people know that he is a decent fighter. People dont like his attitude he talks out of his arse most of the time, thats why alot of people dont like him it has got nothing to do with his boxing ability imo.
    I'd kinda disagree there.
The people that hate him still criticise his boxing ability. No matter who he beats and how, they will find fault. That's just the way some folk are.
I think he is a good fighter but i dislike him because of the way he presents himself and the dumbshit he does if he had a decent chin to back up his stupidity i would be more inclined to support him but he doesn't.
I agree, he just talks way too much poo for me without the back-up. But he's getting there I'd say. He's beat paulie now, which is years ahead of what Hatton achieved at his age.
True, but Hatton was never fast tracked like Amir Khan and headlining PPV's whilst fighting bums early on. Hatton worked his way up the proper way, but Warren did hold him back a bit too long. We shouldn't knock Hatton though, as he has proven he has balls. Khan is on the right track with the Paulie fight, but it's still a case of fighting leftovers. He needs to prove himself a champ by fighting someone hungry who can actually punch back. He hasn't been doing that at all, let's see if he really does fight a puncher next.

I wouldn't deduce that from this thread. He might become the most well known but I think in terms of affection people will always go for down to earth guys like Mitchell, Murray, Moore et al.
I think Miles would still be writing his vitriolic little pieces about how overrated he is even were he to be considered the greatest of all time.
No, credit where credit is due. Khan fought very well in beating Paulie as easily as he did. Khan is never going to be a fighter that gets close to my tender little heart like Barrera, Hatton, Calzaghe nor Toney, but if he beats quality opponents I will always give some level of credit. If he would work on his public image a bit more and stop saying and doing the most ridiculous things he might be more likeable. He came across pretty well in the post fight interview, if only he was more like it when the cameras were off. He still needs to fight a hungry, young puncher though and there is no way to get around that.

And who said I have a picture of Khan's naked torso on my wall? Take that back or I will set the ravenous Charlie Z upon you!

David Haye has the potential to be way bigger than Hatton though just because he is an entertaining HW (when he is willing to fight that is). If Haye beats both Klits then he would be close to Lewis in terms of popularity!!

It's great though for a fan to see him doing well. I said when he lost to Breidas Prescott that he would come back and could be beating the likes of J M Marquez and Ricky Hatton within a couple years and was laughed at.

Now he'd start an overwhelming favourite against Hatton I'd imagine and would probably even be odds on to beat Marquez if the fight took place at 140.

His chin is such that against a puncher he will always be vulnurable, but Roach has made him a much better fighter so hopefully he can overcome that.

I'm sure he will come a cropper a couple more times in his career, but I can definitely see him winning more world titles and winning some big profile fights.

When you compare him against Bradley, Maidana, Alexander and Ortiz you wonder if his chin can hold up against them all. But the flip side is if they can't land and stop him, can they outbox him?

He's a real threat and one of the absolute hottest potential new stars in the sport.

Over here being a muslim and a Pakastani means he's not popular but in the states that may make him a more colourful character and boost his box office appeal. He's definitely well on the way to becoming the next Hatton as far as the US market is concerned, even though he is unlikely to ever have that fanbase and place in the hearts of the public over here.
Careful how you play that one Bilbo.

Yeah i'd disagree with that. I wouldn't care if he was from the moon. If he stopped whining about the British fans not being behind him and just got on with making a name for himself (which to be fair he seems to be doing right now) then I'd have no problem getting behind him. I did saturday night because I had a tenner on him to win by KO anyway

Do you reckon Haye could take 20,000 to vegas with him?

If he was to beat The Klits over here and then there was an American HW as popular as PBF and Haye was to fight him then yes I think he could do. His celebrity status rocketed with a win over possibly the worst known HW champ in history sohe certainly has potential and he has the charisma too. To be honest he's pissed me off a bit recently so I am not really enjoying fighting his corner but this is just my opinion on his potential.
