    An 11-9 round, that's nuts

There is already a perfectly fine system in place. If the judges think the knockout wasn't harmful and that that the guy who was knocked down they can actually decided to only rule it a 10-9 round, as indeed did one of the judges last night.

And if a fighter is so dominating a round without knocking down his opponent he can get a 10-8 round without a knockdown, as did Maidana against Khan last weekend.

    The current system is fine.
hahaha very good mate, i was messing about. the current system is the best......all we need is honest judges who know what boxing is about...to many times everyone see's who won the fight but the people payed, sitting in the best seats seem to get it totally wrong, there has to be some kind of review system something that lets these poeple killing the sport know that anything less then good work will not be excepted

I think we as fight fans tend to be very partisan though. I felt Hopkins won too, but the get dropped twice in his opponent's backyard was always going to be a huge hurdle to overcome.

Tarver scored it for Pascal 114-112, one of the ringside newsporter scored it in Pascal's favour too. It was a close fight. Most of us felt Hopkins won but I don't think a draw is a corrupt result. Scoring is subjective at the end of the day therefore there will always be decisions we will disagree with.

In the end there was no loser, and hopefully we will get to see it again.

Only one of the judges was from Canada.

Klitschko vs Peter 1, Klitschko got knocked down 2 times in that fight and still won. Same thing here only B-hop was even more impressive. Hopkins won that fight but what can you do? Holyfield was robbed as well in that fight with that 7 foot heavyweight forget his name.

I think Klit was dropped 3 times actually. But he was the house fighter.

This may be a tad off topic but how would you guys see Tavoris Cloud doing vs Hopkins and Pascal?

I don't know why but that made me laugh. I think it's just the irrationality of arguments that are made on these boards and how they can be laconically dismissed with the written equilivent of a swish of a hand.

Pascal did relatively well through the first three rounds ( the knockdowns certainly helped) but Hopkins imo, went on to outland and outwork Pascal from the 4th round onwards.

You could make a case for Pascal taking a round between the 4th and 12th but that still means Hopkins wins.

    Hopkins deserves a rematch asap.

Hopkins gave Pascal a boxing lesson and has been calling him out ever since.
If Pascal believes he won that fight, he should have no problem rematching Hopkins.

Hopkins won that fight and Pascal knows it. Pascal has said he would fight other boxers and then reneged before (Miranda), and I doubt his management is in a hurry to put him back in with Hopkins. Regardless, he's contractually obligated to give Dawson a rematch in his next fight and I fully expect Dawson to beat him this time around.

I do not care for Hopkins as a fan. I do recognize he is a good technician and he won, period. The judges should all line up and go on a training program with their seeing eye dogs or better yet, let the pooch do the scoring after all they don't like the idea of certain humans having thumbs. Hopkins was light years ahead of Pascal and in the first four rounds, Pascal was lucky because Hopkins was probably distracted. The judges should realize by now that the fans although partial to one or the other fighter we are not fooled or pleased by these judges. There was a word or two that I was going to use but I thought it better not judge these creeps too harshly.
