VD I couldn't really give two shits what khan does and who he actually fights next ! A groupie are you having a laugh? I don't even really like khan, I respect him as a fighter and as a champion, but as a person im not really into khan at all. I don't like his attitude especially before he got KTFO by Prescott. He was far too cocky and arrogant for my liking but ever since that loss I think he has redeemed himself in terms of getting his career back together. If you really think khan should take a backwards step against a fighter who has proved he's limited and lost three out of 6 fights showing that he's not khans league with his performances than fair enough that's your opinion. I just personally don't see how any fighter can lose three out of six fighters than get a shot at the belt and that's not trying to be protective over khan. As I said before he had a full on war with the number two 140 fighter who IMO is more powerful and dangerous than Prescott. If anything he deserves a rematch against khan for beating Morales and he actually brings something to the table...A WORLD TITLE!!! Are you telling me at this stage of both Maidana and Prescotts career that Prescott is more of a threat than Maidana? If you believe he is with Prescotts previous performances than you are stupid! Maidana Deserves the rematch in that he's a champion and had fight of the year with khan, Prescott however has done nothing but reduce his stock since that fight and that's my point. As I have said in previous points if Prescott got through the mcclosky test even though he's lost two prior he would have had a greater chance in landing a khan fight, even though it was close did he win? No lost and that's the bottom line. If Prescott was a champion and actually brought a title to the table or had continued knocking out people I would have liked to have seen khan fight him, this however isn't the case and khan is a better boxer than Mitchell and mcclosky. And you can throw out the khan got KTFO in 54 seconds card, but Mitchell also got KTFO against Katsidis showing that he could be a bit chinny, but did he no because it proved khan had an off night against a fighter who is beatable. Khan has moved on from this and in my view I really couldn't be bothered seeing it again. Bring on Maidana again IMO, he really deserves the rematch

McCloskey is aesthetically the worst fighter I have ever been unfortunate enough to have laid eyes on. His style is terrible to watch and Prescott clearly won the fight. I listened to the Khan-McCloskey fight on the radio and thought the stoppage sounded premature but now I have seen him fight my empathy for him has somewhat vanished.(He is brave i'll give him that). I wish i had not bothered, and then to top it all the evening was rounded off with the ungodly spectacle of a lolloping Vitali pumelling a brave Adamek like a troll kneading bread with a humans face.

I forgot that judges never get the scoring wrong.

Do you not think the judges scorecards were affected by the fact they were in McCloskey's hometown and where influenced by the crowds cheers for McCloskey's ineffective blows.

    I think they were.

Tom - Maidana, Matthysse, Bradley, these are all better options than Prescott, but they're all unavailable for whatever reason. The better question is what's a better fight for Khan: Lamont Peterson or Prescott? In my opinion, a win over Peterson doesn't do anything for me, a win over the only guy to beat Khan, does, even if Prescott hasn't had a great streak since.

You think Maidana deserves a rematch.

Maidana is a better fighter than Prescott but as it stands Prescott knocked out Khan in less than a minute where Maidana lost a 12 round decision to Khan.

How does that deserve a rematch ? he may of hurt Khan late in the fight but he lost clearly where Prescott ko'd Khan.

Does beating a shot Morales who was able to be competitive with you warrant a rematch ? i don't think so.

Maidana doesn't bring a world title to the table either. He's fighting for the WBA world title in his next match but Khan already holds the Super WBA title.

Khan beating Maidana for a second time doesn't earn him a new title because he already owns the super version of the WBA title and it does nothing for his resume because he already beat Maidana clearly.

A Prescott fight on the other hand allows him to get revenge on his only loss. It's not about giving Prescott a title opportunity, it's about getting revenge on his only loss.

    It's Tam not Tom

Maidana does deserve a shot again because it was fight of the year and I know he's the normal champion but khan Fighting him again does need to happen if khan is planning on staying at 140. IMO Morales isn't shot, he's a legend to the sport and I think he still has more to offer. End of the day maidana officially is champion and be the number one contender to fight for the belt. He should win his next fight and I think he has earnt a rematch for a very entertaining fight against Maidana, because unlike Prescott Maidana can beat top rated 140 fighters. I don't even see mcclosky as a top rated 140 fighter and if Prescott is losing to him it doesn't do his resume any good.

Theres not much point going on Saying the same story we are just going round in circles. That's your opinion and I have mine and we aren't going to change each others opinion clearly.

My other point is that you can't lose three out of six and expect a shot at a title. Peterson has earnt the number one spot, and should fight khan. I think it would be good for khan to fight another top ranked US 140 fighter.

Tam - how about my question re: Lamont Peterson or Prescott?

Also, I'm not arguing that Khan must face Prescott or he's a coward or something like that, I'm saying of his available options, Prescott makes the most sense. I understand Prescott lost a close fight to a borderline top 10 fighter, but he knocked Khan the F out. It's Khan's only loss. Avenging his only defeat is good for Khan's career and would be worth more from a legacy viewpoint than a fight with Lamont Peterson.

    Tam Darkes - Seddon

As I have said before I use to agree Prescott should have fought khan before his losses to Mitchell and Mcclosky. But now he's lost he shouldn't automatically get a shot at khan that's my point. If Prescott got some wins of decent 140 fighters and maybe got a belt then he would be more meritable again. In my eyes the win over khan doesn't mean anything because Prescott has gone backwards, and khan has gone forward. If he gets some wins again and is a real threat to the 140 weight class i would agree be once again gets a shot at khan. Until he does that he doesnt deserve khan that's my view on it.

    Of course he is.

One shot legend ( Barrera) isn't enough for Khan obviously.

Prescott is the best fight out there for him.

He benefits from beating the guy who knocked his ass out in less than a minute no matter which way people try and twist it. Prescott may of lost 3 of his last 6 ( got robbed last fight) but Khan beating him (especially decisively) does alot for his resume.

That chapter in his career would be over.

While Peterson is a decent fighter, Bradley already decisively beat him and doesn't do much for Khan's resume.

Regardless who Khan fights certain people on here will never give him credit for what he does in the ring, hell he could KO Mayweather and and still get shit from VD for not re-matching Prescott.

Hitman, I for one, gave Khan a lot of credit for taking on Maidana because prior to that, I thought he was dodging punchers. Since the Maidana fight, I can't say that any longer. My only point with Prescott is that I think it does more for his career to face Prescott than Peterson and I would expect him to win that fight.

I compare it to Bute rematching Andrade after the first fight that he actually won. By destroying Andrade in the second fight, he cleaned that blemish from his record. I give him more credit for doing that than say beating the last two guys he's fought.
