Although I feel that would be a spectacle as opposed to a boxing event I would watch it.
Toney during his prime was absolutely sublime and I have to say that like Hopkins he is still a tricky task for anyone.

Yes there would be a lot of missing and cat and mouse exchange, only boxing conesours will like to see the match.

You know speaking of Toney, I've been really thinking. Its a shame that Hopkins never decided to campaign at SMW 168. Had he fought there, fights with Toney, Ottke, Jones, Calzaghe, Beyer could all have been more possible.

He moved straight up so he could fight Tarver, he also was old fashioned and the light heavyweight division was something Sugar Ray Robinson was never able to conquer so that motivated him to stay there. even at middleweight he avoided Joe for bigger money fights against Oscar and Tito which you could not blame him.

Hopkins was trying to create a legacy at middleweight at the time of Toney and Jones, so they were too early for him to move up.

Agree and can see the logic in all your points.
BBut I'd love to be able to ask him does he ever regret any of those decisions.

I think he made the most money with the fights he did and probably a better legacy.
