Default The Republican National Convention (RNC)

I've been watching some of this, last night Ann Romney gave a good speech, and tonight Paul Ryan accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination and gave what I thought was a good speech. Thurday night Romney will accept the Republican presidential nomination and give his speech, I'll try watching some of it.
I really see Romney & Ryan as being America's last hope for prosperity, turning the economy around and saving medicare. If Obama and Hillary get back in, this country is headed straight into the toilet.

    Thoughts?

I only listened to Rand Paul. I thought it was an average speech. I may go find Christie's speech later. I think both of the main party candidate are ultimately the same and ruinous for us. Maybe Romney would get to pick a good Supreme Court nominee but that is about all I'd hold my breath for if he wins.

Surely you mean Obama & BIDEN not Hillary

I've not listened to any of the speeches, but I've heard the coverage especialy on MSNBC it is hilarious how biased that station is (amongst others). What did you guys think of the Yahoo/ABC Producer that just ot fired for a hot mic catching him say "They're hapy to have a party while black people drown"?

Between the mainstream media's attacks on anyone conservative & ESPN's attack on contact sports & football specifically I just don't care to watch much tv.

I couldn't help laughing when I read yesterday's MSN.com's characterization of John McCain as Romney's attack dog.

    "Sic him, John...... sic him!!!!"
"Wait!! Put your teeth in, first!"

John McCain is an American hero & a decent person. In the days of George W. Bush's time as President, McCain was the Democrats A#1 favorite Republican because he was willing to make deals and be friendly with Democrats but then he had the audacity to run for President against "The Chosen One" and everything changed.

Lighten up, Lyle! It was still funny. And McCain might be an "American hero", but he's still viewed (and rightfully so) as a warmonger.... and his speech at the RNC did nothing to dispel that.

I said Hillary because her and Bill Clinton are about the only Dems who have any real power to help sway the election in Obama's favor. Biden is just a liability to Obama, as well as just being the "token white male" on the ticket, he's fucking worthless.

I believe Romney will be the next President, the RNC was a rousing success, and I can't see Obama being able to garner as many votes as he did in '08. Many of the people who voted for him are seeing Obama for what he is, a shyster lawyer who found a niche in politics and played the system to get where he is. I like what Romney said about Obama, 'how's he going to create jobs and get the economy going when he's never ran a business'?

Obama isn't qualified to manage a McDonald's, much less be President of the U.S..

I disagree, my main concern is getting the economy back up and running, job creation and working down the national debt. Obama had a chance do try and do this the past four years, and hasn't done shit, why should we believe he will in another 4 years. For me the choice is easy, with Romney and Ryan there's leadership and hope, with Obama we're headed for a huge economic disaster/recession, and a welfare state.
Everyone i'm talking to here in Texas wants Obama out, I think he'll be a 1 term president.

Romney is set to speak in a little while, I believe Clint Eastwood is going to say something as well, I think it's cool that Eastwood supports Romney.

Romney is basically going to repeat the policies that led to the 2008 meltdown so how is he going to make things better, cut the deficit etc. ?

How is Obama going to make things much worse than they are now if he wins again?

The "2008 meltdown" of the economy wasn't all the fault of Bush and the Republicans, the Dems had a majority in congress at the time, so blaming it all on the Republicans or even most of it, is bullshit. And remember that little thing called 9/11? That, and the subsequent economy draining military defense of the U.S. was a big factor, 2 wars that were supported by the Dems at the time.

Tell you what, you can bash Bush, but I don't even want to think about a fucking Clown like Obama being the president/CIC during 9/11.

How did the Democrats having a majority in congress have anything to do with the 2008 meltdown? Or the government spending money on 9/11 and various wars?

How did Bush do a good job on 9/11? After hearing the country was under attack he sat and listened to a schoolkid reading a kid's book for half an hour. Then he got in his plane and flew off to Nebraska where he hid in the side of a mountain for a few days while Giuliani took chage in NY.

Bush did a great job finding Bin Laden, whereas Obama "the clown" has had no such luck I suppose.

I give the President credit for having the balls to green light a risky cross border operation and giving Pakistan the middle finger at the same time but I'm not sure how much credit I give him for "finding" UBL.
