Would you prefer instead of a name who deserves to have such a massive opportunity, it go to a journeyman bum with a losing record?

    Would that be more acceptable?

For fuck sakes theres some, myself included who feel that taking on such a rough hard bastard, it could all go tits up. Maybe Hatton should do what Harrison did and get some european no mark.
Yes. If he's serious about making a comeback and not fleecing his fans. But hey-ho. It's not official.

He will know hes there to have a scrap for a couple of rounds, look brave, take a beating and fold from a left hook to the ribs
well that'$ ok then let'$ not bother with having well matched competitive fight$

How the fuck is Hatton fleecing fans by giving them a fight between him and a well known world class name? You think theyd get better value if he did fight a journeyman?

The fans dont care, theyv already sold over 18000 tickets before an opponent has even been named!

Its a comeback fight. Hatton said himself he wants to have a comeback opponent. He could quite easily have walked in to a massive title fight but instead he is serious and taking on a relatively soft opponent. I dont know what your problem is with it. Im not a big fan of Hatton or his style but fuck me even I can understand that someone who got battered in his last fight and has been out for years and is now a bit long in the tooth for his weight needs a soft touch to come back against.

Katsidis is a great opponent if true. Hatton, having already sold out the venue without an opponent named, could have chosen a complete powderpuff punching nobody.

Katsidis is the complete oppostie of "fleecing fans"

    Respect to Hatton if true.

Whatever happened to the Malignaggi talk?
Oh yeah...... Paulie would be a threat to actually win the fight.

because it muddies the waters for fanboys and casual fans - but hey-ho. Both shot, one with a big size advantage...only last week people were bitching about the size advantage Chavez had..same day weigh-ins...

Exactly. Didn't like the size advantage Junior had (but had his ass handed to him regardless)..... and don't like Hatton choosing a shot opponent two divisions below. Consistency in ideas. So exactly what's your fucking point?

So here comes the bellyaching already. One minutes Hattons shot the next minute he is being a bully by offering another shot fighter a HUGE pay day and opportunity. Ricky's opponent has not even been confirmed yet. You and Allthugz are both douche bag troll boys with tiny weeners and pea sized brains etc etc etc

God you are both SO PREDICTABLE

so you're not disputing that both are shot and that katsidis is undersized?
Who knows what level Hatton will be at on returning? Unlike some I am not so twisted up with some kind of gay envious hate that I would dismiss either fighters chances. I would not waste post after post denigrating fighters, life is simply too short and I have too much respect for fighters of any discipline, particularly Boxers with cajones like Hatton and Kastidis.

not running down fighters per se - although they sign on the dotted line - I'm running down matchmakers/promoters

Paulie was already scheduled to defend his title in October.

I take it from your response though that you fully endorse Hatton-Paulie? So if that fight happens next you'll clearly be very happy and give Hatton some respect. Cool.

    Objection!
Witness has evaded the question for a second straight time!

I think your just being a twat for the sake of it now.

He has his eyes on Paulie because has already done him once and he now has a title. To be honest, Hatton could have come back with a title challenge against Malignagi and it would probably have been Malignagis biggest ever purse but Hatton wants to ease in. Although I dontcall fighting Katsidis easing in. You know how it works.

Hatton is a massive money generator and he could have a couple of soft touch fights before he faces anyone of the caliber of Katsidis and do his little bit to improve the British economy. Imagine the tens of thousands of people decending on a city with money to spend to watch Hatton. Like we already know, the venue is sold out before there is even an opponent.

That you pick and choose who to hate on in an incredibly childish and predictable way. You already have no respect for Hatton who is at least as brave as Cotto, if not more so, and so you would have ridiculed his opponent whoever it was. What about Gatti? is he a punk for coming in to the ring clearly bigger than his opponent? The facts is Kastidis called Ricky out about a year ago so if the rumours turn out to be true he gets his wish. Should the Aussie/Greek warrior run that past you first for your approval?
