Why is crime so high in England?

Tell you a story now about how police are so desperate not to arrest anyone that they drove a violent women home rather than the police station. She came back to the victim 45 minutes later and made more threats a further 3 police men detained her but did not want to arrest her. It was embarrassing seeing them running after her, like a benny hill sketch.

I'm not comparing the UK to the USA. Crime has always been a problem here. On my trip in 82 I could walk the streets of London after dark with no worries. My American friend tells me it's really bad there. I just want to know what changed over the years?

Stats say you're 60 times more likely to get shot in the U.S. than in the UK. End of story. No amount of links, partial statistics, twisted logic, semantics, or otherwise can change that fact. Logically that leaves us with more stringent testing on who owns one and steeper laws in regards to security of the firearm and if it falls into someone elses hands (a family member etc) or you sell it on illegally and its used illegally you should answer for their crime right along side them.

Out here if you have a firearm it is in a gun safe unless you are heading for the range if the cops come around and ask your misses to inspect your guns EG while you are at work and she go finds the keys to the safe you lose everything, gun license the whole lot. Its you only and no one else gets to them ever, no spare keys lying around nothing.

For sure you guys arm for a different reason; well we do too, same reason as you; but its a hidden agenda now, if you are well off you can afford the requirements: weapon, the ammo, the licensing ,the police background checks,the yearly fees for government, the yearly fees for a shooting club.
