Well, he's not...and you're obviously a young dude to make such a statement, probably an American.

He's a very good defensive boxer, one of the best defensive boxers there's been.

But if you're talking best fighter all-time, he's not that all.
I'm 32 and from Scotland of course it's only my opinion but I believe he's the best boxer I've ever seen.

Real translation from Pac: I need financial assistance. Even If I lose I win !!!!
Even if Pacquiao needs financial assistance, as a boxing fan I wanted to see this fight compared to other fights of Floyd.

It's too late for this fight anyway, neither of these guys are at their best anymore.
    The moment has been missed.

Anyone that's followed their careers KNOWS neither of these guys are what they used to be.
Look at some old highlights for comparison to now, for $#!t's sakes!
They're still both very good, but they ain't prime anymore, and once it's gone, it's gone for good.

Negotiations began in late 2009, over 4 years ago.
30 year old Pacquiao had leveled Hatton in May, 2009.
32 year old Mayweather had outboxed Marquez in Sept, 2009.

They both were still at their very best.
    Just a terrific dream match-up.

By 2011, Pacquiao and Floyd were both showing signs of being just a bit past their peaks.

Now Pacquiao is 35, quite old for his style of fighting.
Mayweather will be 37 in a few weeks, and he's getting hit more than he used to, and doesn't have the legs he once did.
If the fight happens now, it'd just be a ripoff and a cheat on the fans. I wouldn't pay for it, not anymore. Those f*<kers running boxing have played with us too long with this fictitious fight...

F*<k that fight, that fight can go f*<k itself, that fight can go to hell now 'cause it's too late...

This fight is beyond its significance . I has no more meaning just a fight to witness now.

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao said he didn’t mind being called a “desperate dog” by Floyd Mayweather Jr. who has continued to distance himself from a lucrative mega bout with the Filipino boxing star.

In a report by Philboxing’s Eddie Alinea, Pacquiao said he rather be called a desperate dog chasing for a bone “than a dog running with its tail wrapped between his legs in utter show of fear.”

The fighting congressman is proud to say that he doesn’t run away from fight, unlike his American counterpart, who is known to cherry pick his opponents.

“At least I look for more fights, I don’t run away from them,” said the 35-year-old General Santos native.

Pacquiao said he is always willing to face Mayweather in the ring, but he cited that the latter seems to come up with a gamut of excuses.

Mayweather’s latest demand is for the Filipino boxer to break ties with Top Rank Inc.’s Bob Arum, who has promoted the American boxer in the past.

“He’s been asking for so many conditions which we have expressed intentions to abide by like drug testing, purse split and everything,’ said an exasperated Pacquiao. “Now he wants me to separate myself from my promoter which I cannot possibly do without violating my contract.”

Pacquiao said he prefers to concentrate on his upcoming fight rather than challenge an opponent who refuses to fight.

“He really looks like he does not want to fight me, so, I think there’s nothing we can do about it already,” he said. “Let’s forget about the Mayweather fight for the meantime.”

Believe what you want,...Mayweather is already considered Great, and if he finishes undefeated,..with or without Pac,he will be mentioned amoung the Greatest fighter`s ever..Not just gonna repeat all that I said earlier....Teddy Atlas has been in the game as long as anyone,...ask him why this fight has not happenned..and he will tell you Arum....Mayweather has no reason to fear Pac,...if you think he does your knowledge of Boxing is still in the amateurs...Mayweather knows, just like Pac does,..that his legacy is not,and will not be defined by One fight...Every fighter in the HOF has someone they did`nt fight,or someone they did fight that was way past their prime....For some,it will never matter what Floyd does,..if he beat Pac`s Ass right now, those people would say Pac was shot, and Mayweather waited for that to happen...Like I said earlier, and if you know anything about the sport of Boxing,..you already know...A fighter can lose any fight...The fear of losing exist in every fighter,in every fight....Pac included..

There is a video in this thread in which Floyd says he doesnt want to fight Pac because he is afraid for his health. He says its because of the PED's but nonetheless he admits he is afraid to fight him.

Its come to the point now where there is no question Floyd doesnt want to fight him. He said it and his dad said it. Even his dad said "Im afraid for my sons health if he fights that little man". So thats no longer in question. We are just here to ponder what is really going on behind the scenes. Maybe they are just trying to hype it back up? Who knows.

And your right if he does beat Pac people will say he waited till Pac was washed up.

I believe that video is old,..If I`m not mistaken..Back when Mayweather was convinced Pac was on Drug`s,...Pac is desperate for A Mayweather fight,..pure and simple..And I just watched A video interview with Roach,..Talking about how Ariza is A shady character, and that he would give Manny shakes everyday, and would not tell him what was in them..?...unbelievable....Anyone who would buy that line of bullshit is insane...Roach is trying to cover his own ass...How could he sit there and say he did not know what Ariza was giveing Pac...I like Pac,..but I believe he has been juiceing up until recently...

Sorry if this video was posted already but start watching from 9:00 and you'll get a glimpse of how Floyd really feels.. I mean does it really look like he's putting up an act? This dude seems like he's genuinely shaken up.. He pours his heart out as to why he can't fight Manny..

    I definately agree with that.

I hope Pac isnt a juicer but it seems like wishful thinking more than ever.

I just really hate it for Floyd, Pac and this era of boxing to be remembered for a fight that didnt happen. They will both go to the HoF and I know you think Floyds legacy is locked down but if they dont fight people 100 years from now will look back at this era and will say "But he didnt fight ______ so how great were they really?"

And lets face it, from now until then people will especially say that about Floyd. They will say "He was undefeated but he didnt fight Pacquiao". Floyds legacy is already turning into the fight that never happened.

And as you said, even if Floyd whips his ass, people will say he waited till Pac was washed up. He needs to fight him and the sooner the better. Win, lose or draw is better than being remembered for what never happened and how bad it hurt the sport.

The same could be said about many fighters.

But there isnt a fighter in Marciano's time that could claim greatest of his era in which he supposedly ducked. We dont look back and say well he didnt fight _____. And hurt the sport bad.

If they dont fight we at least know Floyd himself said he doesnt want to fight him because he is concerned for his health. No problem there but knowing this, does Floyd deserve to be put on top of the mountain with the Ali's who sacrificed everything to beat everyone so they could be claimed as the greatest?

Not in my opinion but to each his own.
