I've said it before. Pistol shooting, clay pigeon shooting, curling etc..... All sports
I agree, Pistol shooting, Clay pigeon shooting even boring curling would be much improved by allowing the competitors to get properly tanked up whilst playing.
For it to be true sport they all need to be pissed up, shooting and smoking at the same time.

And for the avoidance of all doubt, fat blokes throwing tungsten darts at a board is not in any way a sport. It just is not.
OK so would you agree pistol shooting, clay pigeon, archery, curling isn't either? Any others

Golf to a certain degree also

I struggle to see any of them as sports. Even golf. More like games than sports. Darts is just a pub game. The fat blokes play darts to a very high standard indeed and under great pressures but at the end of the day they're a bunch of fat blokes playing a pub game.

Fallon sherrock hit a 9 darter today, don't think it was televised though, good work by her, it was. A pdf challenge tour event she beat marco verhofstad..

Funny thing about sherrock is she doesn't win the women's world title despite performing far better v men than the other women. Good for her.

She looks nothing like a darts athlete. Needs to start eating the right foods. Correct nutrition.

OK dragging this one up for painfully obvious reasons. How good Luke Littler is beggars belief. At 16 he's pretty much doing what he wants with the Worlds best players. Throughout the World championships it was all very cordial and his victims were all full of praise for him. Not that he needed any help, and you wouldn't go so far as to say that anyone rolled over for him. But you got the impression that some were ok with being the supporting act.

Nothing of the sort in Bahrain when it got to the business end. Price and Van Gerwen wanted to clip his wings for sure and he just mentally bent them over and fucked them in the ass. Dry, with a run up. It was brilliant. Just ridiculously good.

His Mrs is a nonce though for sure.

Well been almost a year since anyone posted re darts and it's that time again - the world darts final.

The standard again has been crazy with two nine darters going in early and dare I say it the final most wanted - Luke Littler v Michael Van Gerwen.

MVG not the player he was 6-7 years ago but is defo playing better than he has for a while. Still has odd spells in matches where his darts are wayward and he misses pressure doubles but this tournament he seems to have just 'done things right at the right time' as he put it himself. His match v Callan Rydz is one of the best I've seen and on another day Rydz would have romped home - but MVG did things right at the right time ! The beauty of set play I suppose. Rydz has a great future if he keeps that standard up.

Littler a clear favourite and you do feel this lad will dominate for years to come. Have to say I'd like MVG to win. I know you only deserve the number of titles you get over the line in but I feel the way he's played the last 12 years or so he deserves more than his 3 wins at this event

No idea how to tag people but wondering what sort of coverage darts gets around the world - particularly outside of Europe and the USA?? Spic ?? If it ever cracks America it's potential as a global sport is limitless. The Littler effect will fuel that.

    Can't wait till tonight

It shows impressive dedication to his sport that at only seventeen years of age he's managed to attain the physique of an elite darts athlete. His hair isn't going to last much longer though. Good luck you darts throwing kebab eating motherfucker.

I've been bitten by the darts bug since 2023. Been going to open amateur tournaments with my eldest son who's also into it. You see some right characters at them. Got close to winning the B comp at one just before Crimbo. I had one too many Golds on board and couldn't see straight come the final

That was a bit of a canter the final right. Out the traps strong and never really gave MVG a sniff. I've warned to MVG over the years. Obviously a great player. But I mostly like the way swearing is part of his English language and he just uses it whenever the fuck he wants. I also liked how he gave Phil Taylor a bit of stick on the night of champions I think it was called? Although I totally agree with Mark about MVG being better than a 3 time winner, I wanted Littler to win it and he did it with ease really. You have to wonder if MVG will increase that number with the two Luke's laying in wait and a level above everyone else.

Nailed on World cup champions? He can't win every game for sure. Some of the shorter formats and opening rounds of longer formats he's still vulnerable. But it's pretty much a case of he wins when he wants and seemingly unstoppable at the moment. Just ridiculously good.

Really looking forward to the Bahrain Master in a couple of weeks. I don't care who wins it. I just love the bonkers opening rounds where players that I could beat get themselves on the tele.

Yeah Littler just didn't have a bad spell in that match. Maybe the odd bad three darts or a loose one every now and then but that was it.

MVG put pressure on himself from the start when a good start for him was crucial. His scoring wasn't a problem but his checkout percentage the first three
sets must have been woeful. You can't do that in a final against someone like Littler who seemingly feels no pressure. Also never seen MVG but so many wayward darts in the completely wrong segment. Again the pressure of knowing his opponent was Littler and he'd punish him.

Littler was relentless though and applied pressure in almost every leg even when he was behind. I know my man didn't win but I was a bit disappointed as hoped for a final that went all the way the way they'd both been playing. I do wonder as you say if MVG will add to that tally of three now. The only thing that could happen is littler gets distracted with all the attention he gets and women will come on the scene too - how could a seventeen year old resist!

When you look back at MVG he started to dip in form after he decided to start a family. Lessons to be learned there!

Looking forward to the darts season now and I think having a dominant figure with an aura of invincibility about him is great for any sport. I loved the Phil Taylor years and it was a pleasure to watch him whitewash opponents as we were witnessing a level of darts we'd never seen before.
