Firstly have to say man I do not like this fight . Basically they're just cashing all in on the all Mexico Cinco de Mayo week festivities. Hey all the power to ya but off top Arreola doesn't need to be taking anymore punches. And Ruiz is one fight removed from -the- unified heavyweight championship. But alright I'll stop bitchin . Ruiz has been in serious training and has shed 30+ lbs looking to make a showcase return with the division still very much in flux. No doubt Arreola will realize it's another of his 'last' chances and look to go to absolute war similar to last time out with Kownacki. Very plausible he does very well in the first few rounds behind the heavy jab but if the hand speed, beard and combination punching of Ruiz are still at pre and post AJ levels I think he'll do a lawnmower job on Chris by midway to late. That war torn puffy mug is made for mashing up. But question is..can a guy lose too much weight trying to reinvent themselves? How's that punch resistance hold up. Does machismo make Ruiz feed off the crown and event and welcome some careless exchanges. I don't plan to buy it but will wait and see how the morning goes. But putting the main event card on secluded ppv and not a premium spot on free FOX primetime tv with the prelims is just dumb.

Actually a couple of nice undercard fights that should be solid. Sebastian Fundora v Jorge Cota at 154. Eduardo 'Zurdito' Ramirez gets a deserved crack at an interim title v Isaac Avelar and Omar Figueroa Jr v Abel Ramos has fire fight written all over it. Oh and if the purse strings are too tight we can all catch Erislandry Lara fighting for his 100th 'regular' wBa trinket on the cable prelim portion of the FOX broadcast .
