I am surprised that I did not get more Antonio Tarver votes on this thread, everybody completely trashed him after his lost to Bernard but very few people have mentioned his name. Does his lost take more Drama out of the next Rocky movie

after he got whooped the first time he came back and won, but a "legend" wouldnt have lost to him in the first place.
i guess moorer is a legend since they split 2 (not to mention the first one holyfield lost to him they were both in their "prime")
riddick bowe also must be a legend
    as is john ruiz
im not even gonna start about the latter part of evanders career

well obviously the reports must've have been correct that in the first fight evander's shoulder was screwed up...because 5 knockdowns in the rematch is very good evidence....not to mention he kicked tyson's & foreman's ass...and was the first man to win the HW crown 4 times....so no matter what you say there's nothing you can say to take that fact away from him....the first ever to win it four times.....if he's overrated then every HW is overrated....

how old was foreman when they fought? cuz we could get into what evander was doing after he turned 37
are you implying that tyson didn't lose a step during his prison time? (actually before that, but ill leave that alone for now)
he got the hw title so many times because he kept LOSING and getting it back
an all time great would not have lost the belt so many times in the first place
    seriously...........you are really reaching
    38-8-2.......legendary

5 losses came after his 37th birthday...and it was the same foreman that went on to ko michael moorer....

Whoa whoa...so evander's overrated and tyson is not? And like I said before the fact that he could constantly rebound to regain the title is great in itself....

Evander unfortunetly didn't have the greatest health, but he showed he had true balls and came back.

evander's rep at heavy was goinb toe to toe with a bigger more skilled foe in riddick bowe........he only won one but got alot of well earned respect for his heart and guts....much like micky ward did even though he lost 2 of 3 to gatti---he suffered no disgrace as a result but rather gained popularity and respect even in defeat

what really cemented his legacy was standing up to the seemingly re-invincible mike tyson (most people forgot the douglas fight by then and going to prison actually enhanced mike's rep as a bad ass) and kayoing him and then of course mike futhered that even more by biting his ear off in the rematch

what most people forget when evaluating vander as an overall fighter is that he was probably the greatest cruiserweight of all time...which is not like being the best middleweight ever but it does have some merit...

Cooper down in 1st, Holyfield suffers first career knockdown in 3rd.
(The WBC did not recognize this bout as being for its title because Cooper was unrated in their rankings. Cooper replaced the injured Francisco Damiani on short notice. Damiani coincidentally was himself a replacement for then top-ranked Mike Tyson, who suffered a rib injury.)

when exactly was his prime then?
check his record when he was defending his belts
he lost 2 out of 3 against bowe in his prime (i guess bowe is an all time great also)
c'mon man seriously..........he beat JOHN RUIZ once out of three times
i guess evander had a VERY short prime period that only applies when he isn't defending his titles.
he was the best cruiser weight ever though...........but only a good hw
