Baldomir is friggin' huge, man. I'd hate to see him step in there with Hatton and I'm a Ricky fan. In fact, Ricky is far and away my favorite fighter. I wish he would just drop back down to 140 where I wouldn't be remotely afraid of a date with Mayweather or anyone else.
Baldomir vs Floyd is something I'd love to see after Carlos' last two fights. I think Floyd's speed, intelligence and skill would save the day. I can't stand the guy, but i like this matchup. Baldo is definitely under-rated in my opinion... hell, I've underestimated him for his last two fights, but not anymore.

Was underrated, will now be taken seriously, but I think Floyds still handles him easily.

Are you calling Judah a "lackluster opponent" in general or just saying that he wasn't at his best against Baldomir? I mean, Judah is WAY more skilled than your boyfriend Margarito, and was in fact the real, undisputed, linear welterweight world champion when Baldomir beat him. Yeah, he should have taken Baldomir more seriously. But that doesn't really make your point. Just having Judah on his resume means that Baldomir has faced better competition than, say, Antonio Margarito.

I admit that I'd get up a little more for Floyd/Margarito. But Baldomir has done more to earn the shot. He's the champion of the division. He's at this point better known to casual fans than Margarito is. As to "the most exciting and lucrative opponents," those would be ODH and Shane Mosely--both of whom have publicly ducked Floyd, at least for now. If they're still not up to fight after Floyd takes care of Baldomir, then maybe we'll get an actual WW "unification" fight--with Margarito or Hatton.

And I'll say this again--I've still yet to hear that this fight is actually happening from anywhere other than the totally unreliable boxrec. No mention anywhere else. I won't believe it til I see it.
I was being sarcastic about the unification and I dont care how skilled Judah and PBF are they do not act like real men in the ring and are both poor examples. Conversely, it does not matter how many fights Margarito has been in because he has already beat most of the welterweights mentally and in a manly manner.

Manly manner Bro Margarito is a solid guy, but I think your now clutching @ straws.

Definately a good fight, but Floyd handles Carlos with ease IMO.

Baldomir has paid his dues and deserves this shot. The 2 lackluster opponents your referring to would be a step up from anything Margarito has faced as of yet, Tony is just another fighter in the division until he fights a few top guys and wins.

Straws? I dont think so cause Arum has offered the money, Margarito the challenges, a belt and a huge fan base and has already mentally defeated Judah, Floyed, Mosley, Vargas, ODLH, Baldomir?,Winky etc....

Oh, I see, so Margarito's actually 40-4, not 33-4, and he's actually beaten the top 2 p4p fighters already and unified the WW division (as well as taking belts at 154)--mentally. You know, I guess he's actually 44-0, because even those four fights he lost to bums he probably won mentally.

I think Margarito does have a mental edge over some of his opponents, like when you hear Shane Mosley say he is not ready for him and that Floyd should fight him first!!! And I disagree,Tony is not "just another fighter",ESPN number 2 and Ring magazine number 2 and WBO champ. Remember,Floyd got his title from beating ZAB WHO WHOULD HAVE LOST ALL the titles to Baldo ergo Floyd should not have a title. A judah win was good but a win over Gatti is not a massive step up...a battle worn, poor Gatti or a an unexperienced but dangerous and soon to be IBF champ Cintron..The more wins Cintron notches up,the more impressive Tnoy's win looks so I'll be rooting for him alot!
The only thing I do agree with is that Tony needs names and I hope the Baldomir Tony rumours are true as that would be 1 of the biggest names and a big time unification fight! It would also be a war!

Margarito is fighting another tomato can.. Cosme Rivera what a joke. 9 losses including a 3rd ko loss to Judah. I am not impressed.. If Tony keeps fighting tomato cans he might find one that can fight back, then what?? Yuck ! . I just think there are to many good fighters to fight Paul Williams, Collozo, Vivian Harris ,Zab Judah , Clotty, Ben Tackie would be a good fight for Margarito, and exciting fight to boot. Tackie is always on Call and never turns down a fight, just my opinion but i don't buy into Margarito just yet ! something is strange about his choise of opponents.

At least the Clottey fight would be meaningful, Rivera would be a waste of time & wouldnt prove anything for Margarito. He is definately in the mix at 147 but needs to keep fighting top opposition if he wants to get in against the big boys.
