Which is a good thing, but I can just see some suit advising him to do some of that to help his PR, or just keep the government off his back in general. Wonder how much of that goes to his kids that he ignores entirely![]()

theres at least 2 Extremely worthy opponents he never fought that he should haveOriginally Posted by Hulk
but as far as greatest of ALL time ?? what did he do that people like Roberto Duran and Ali didnt do?
Won something like 6 titles at 4 different weights?
Calling Roy the heavyweight Champion of the world is as ridiculous as calling Oscar the middleweight champion of the world. Neither of them won legitamate belts in those respective divisions.
I agree with what Samson is saying but then Floyd hasnt really beat the number 1 in each division either neither have afew other fighters so its up for debate .Winning the heavyweight title from starting off at middle is a big achievement but whats not mentioned is that he was beating the worst heavyweight of all time.
If Oscar beat Nard that would have been a greater achievement cuz Bernard was a long time established number 1 unlike Ruiz .
Over their careers though , Oscar came back from defeat better . He has never been dominated like Jones and with the exception of Trinidad , Oscar didnt run in his big fights . On the otherhand Jones was the classier guy . Hes the one who looked invincible during his peak and was p4p number 1 for a good while

Game I never want to go against what your saying cause u da man, but Hernandez was #1 at Jr. Light when Floyd beat him, Diego Corrales was #1 as well at Jr. Light & so was Castillo at lightweight..

What Eubank? Eubank said himself he never wanted to fight Roy Jones and MADE SURE he didn't.Originally Posted by means2184

Shiiiiiiiiiiit babe. ive been to 3 RJJ fights but id trade them all to be at the James Toney fight. Now that was beautiful!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by Starr
This here is exactly why HBO backed Oscar to the fullest. He brings the people out like no Non Heavyweight ever could and sells out the gate. As great as RJJ was he never was the box office draw that Oscar still is and he does fail at promoting his own fights.Originally Posted by brazilianbomber
I agree 100%! Also he is taking back boxing and making it possible for fighters to work without depending on fighting till they injure themselves. His Golden Boy Promotions is making it possible for fighters to fight without having to depend on snakes such as Don King & Bob Arum. You have Mosley, Hopkins MAB working for him and I'm sure their are jobs for others. RJJ & ODH are both great fighters but Oscar has done more for boxing than RJJ could ever do. I'm not being biased but the facts prove this point.Originally Posted by chamiley
DLH clearly beat Quartey and I thought that although close he beat Whitaker, yea Roy has dominated, but against WHO? the vast majority of Jones' conquests have been bums who's biggest name on their record was their loss to Jones, don't get me wrong Jones is an all time great but he isn't light years ahead in talent and accomplishments over DLH, yea everybody knows that Hopkins only got better as time went on, and if the Hopkins that fought Jones were to fight the Hopkins that fought Trinidad, Joppy, DLH, Taylor, and whooped Tarver , he would easily dismantle him.Originally Posted by P.G.H Angel Eyes
How many of Oscar's foe's that he dominated went on to become major world champions after with 2 being legends and one in his prime that are HoF locks?Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales

There is a valid argument about RJJ being the more talented fighter, but you really can't compare the names on the records.
