So when Calzaghe comes over for a massive Madison Square Garden show next spring, and hands Kessler a boxing lesson, after going head-on with a rough dirty fighter and beating him at rough dirty fighting last night.
Will you then be impressed? Or will it take another 9 years at the top?

ok so what's all the joe hating about Jeah he fought a stupid fight and still won a comfortable ud. So either joe demolishes his opponents and then they're called bums, or he demolishes them and they're called bums afterwards but are hailed as the next big thing prior to the fight, as was the case with lacy. Or he has a tough fight which he still comfortably wins but then for some reason joe's called a bum, so pretty much no matter what he does he's not going to get his props. He could step into the ring with b hop and let's say he beats him, then people will say b hop is over the hill. Or he could fight kessler and beat him, then people will say kessler was just another overhyped bum ala lacy...cal is a good fighter people need to stop hating on him, whether he's a great, perhaps I don't know, his next few fights should let us know, but he definitely is not a pussy or a bum. I don't care how protected you are as a fighter, if you are a bum your not going to hold a belt for 9 years and go 42-0 unless you're fighting the physically/mentally impaired!!!

Well, there's a fair bit of criticism heading Calzaghe's way tonight, and personally, I think it's somewhat unfair. Much as I hate all the commentator's cliche's it takes two to dance the rumba, or summat like that. Basically, Bika came in in the same manner as Kabary Saleem came in, looking to spoil and to rough Joe up, in the hope to ruffle him, and somehow find a winning punch. At the end of the day, Joe showed a lot of grit battling with Bika, who looks like a proper brawler. I think the cut an early fouling disturbed Calzaghe, and as happened with Saleem, once he feels he's being fouled, he goes in and fould himself. He matched a roughhouse fighter at his own game, and while he didn't do it in a perfect way, as a boxer, he did what he had to do, and took what was, eventually, a comfortable win. It won't convince the critics, except to show he's not just a boxer.

im big calzaghe fan but mate he fought poorley where was all combos he only threw like 5 combos all night bika was stronger calzaghe didnt move him with his punches on other hand bika did move him bika was physically stronger and calzaghe won by about 8 rounds to 4 maybe 9-3 but to be honest not impressive at all im very disappointed

no it was bad im not saying everyone can be perfect but he wernt throwing many combos he maybe threw 5 combos and that other guy was just very dirty fighter
