What's so hard to understand. The man's a F****** coward. Accept it. Talented or not, when you turn down 3.4 million against the biggest threat in your division to fight a garbage fighter like Manfredo your showing true colors. And Calzcrappy's true colors are yellow.
I love Joe & all that shit...but this fight is a sham.

Why is it that no one wants to face the fact that he is fighting a game show fighter who had no game?

Step backwards...no matter what HBO says...as Joe's fans...or as realists should see smoking butterbean or a steaming kernel of corn on a large pile of shit!

Set up fight my ass! They better show a Kessler replay or live fight on the very same night!!!

It's like this...you know I'm a Calzaghe fan...& I know...by your own admission that you think Joe is skilled...your'e just as disgusted with his choice of opponnets as I am...your'e just a bit more brutal in your expressions.

I truly believe that you'd go back to Calzaghe instead of Calzcrappy if he picked a legit opponent...am I right?

Nothing wrong with that... back right now...or in 24.

Iam a Calzaghe fan his last fight was a joke, but this fight is stupid fight to take at this stage of his career.I'am sure Calzaghe is gonna look a million dollors beating up Manfredo and ko him in what will be an easy fight. He will look good infront of US fans that will set up a fight with Jamaine Taylor in the states.
I would much rather him fight Kessler and if he wins he is the undisputed champ then fight JT who would be the former undisputed champ at MW seen as he would be stepping up in weight.

As you all know, I am a Calzaghe fan...but I too am appalled by this latest choice of opponent, especially hot on the heels of the Bika fight. Very dissapointing. Calzaghe will blow Manfredo away in 4.

A waste of very limited time....why not try and unify the fecking belts?

Thats because Frank and Joe, when they heard Kessler's promoter was on the phone both stuck their fingers in theirs ears and started shouting 'La La La I cant hear you!' as loud as they could until he had gone.

    Just so i understand this right;

Calzaghe, he is now a coward, because his team, and HBO all want him to fight an american next witht he promise of a magea fight in the states with Taylor at the end of the year? Because he turned down the biggest pay day to fight his 20th def IN DENMARK when cleary hes the top tog dog, name ways and Kessler has along way to go before he will get much Us exposure, and when he does it will be lacy knocking him out.

Whats even more funny is the likes of VD will use his brilliant interllect to come up with names such as "crappzageh" but can't see the logic whats happening here. I mean not long ago VD, you defended bernard hopkins for PERSONALY pricing himself out of a fight with calzaghe when it was aranged joe goes to bernads back yard to fight him. Check his record out, see the lossers he fought form the tito fight to the De la hoya fight when clazaghe wanted him then. See how the class of people he was fighting sucked so bad that he didn't know how much he as getting after the fight, that the only place that would stage them was his home state of PA lol... but you blame Warren and Calzaghe for that don't you? you claim they didn't make him a big enough offer, even though it was a career high pay day for him, and even though he wouldn't of made that much combined in his next few fights, it was still calzaghes fault wasn't?

And wacko, how discusted were you with hopkins and Jones when they constently priced them selves out of fights with Calzaghe? Or how hopkins cowrad and hid in middle weight untill Jones jr was washed up, and toney had moved up? this big hero, legend, former 'P4P king' (which he never ever deserved) Got beat easily by a somewhat one handed young roy jones at middle weight and never left it untill the next time he got beat and there was a talentless weight for him to go to and take a title.

And now, Calzaghe is a coward, and people are disgusted that he has taken Manfredo over Kessler. Seems to many people have been riding around on thier high horses way to long and completley forgotten how boxing works. Sad simple reason is the american publics opinion matters alot when it comes to getting the big fights in the US, and Calzaghe as pretty much been promised that by taking manfredo next. And you can bet your house on the fact Calzaghe V manfredo will be viewd by a sh*t load more people in the us than it would if Calzaghe fought Kessler.

Kessler is being Hyped up and overrated more then Lacy was, and the higher they build you up, the bigger the fall when you come crashing back down to earth. If kessler wanted that fight they would made an offer of big bux for the fight to be in the UK, no way in hell is Joe gunna play by some 'nobodys' tune and fight his 20th def in denmark.

The best part is tho this 'he is no a Coward'

When he offerd Hopkisn a career high to fight him in the states...
Jones Jr was offerd more then a ffair amount to fight Joe in the states...
And now, he takes some what of an easy fight yes, but its to secure a fight in the States agasint one of the most contreversial, decision gifted fightrs in the world today, Jermaine Taylor, whos traine dby none other than EManuel him self. If thats not enough, Taylor doesn't look like getting KO'd anytime soon, and Calzaghes hands don't look like they pack the power to go KOing people either.

Froch is going places and fast

Totally disagree with the three of you. I honestly think that you all need to review the body of Kessler's work before passing judgement.

The kid learns more & more from fight to fight & he seems to be getting stronger.

Froch is just to open & too green & you can only rely on power for so long.

Although Kess is a power puncher...he has been refining his defense...atleast he did against Beyer & he's gotten more accurate with his right hand. Kessler is becoming more complete.

    Agreed.
Kessler might be defensevley getting better and i do agree with that...he is a world champ....but you also have to think that carl is getting better (and older) and he is undefeated! i think if he gets past dodson he should be considered for a fight with JC or Kessler? When you think about it in the long run..who is Kessler gona fight? lacy? JC's seconds...it wouldnt make sense the person i think who fits into it all is carl froch and he needs a bigger fight to show this!

I think Peter is tough as hell and will have a better showing then Calzaghe's last two opponents, in fact I hope he knocks the hell out of Calzaghe for taken about 12 steps backwards. Calzaghe is already well known in the states to anyone that is a boxing fan so I don't believe for a second that it's just for HBO and to get known over here in the states. His promoter simply thinks that Peter will be an easy defense and he'll match Hopkins MW defense record giving him bragging rights in a sence. But in reality it will do nothing in a true boxing fans eyes that he defended the WBO title more then Hopkins has defended his titles. Poor Joe is going backwards and losing more respect each day. I guess I have more confidence in Peters ability then most here and think the fight will go the distance further hurting Joes reputation. Joe has plenty of KO's but he's not a great puncher, he hit Lacy over a thousand times and couldn't KO him.

I'm rooting for the huge underdog here, I hope like hell Manfredo knocks him off his throne. He wants to be known In the states but he makes a barely rated fighter travel over there to fight him. Manfredo has something that Calzaghe lacks and thats courage and the willingness to fight anyone anywhere. Look at these ratings, Peter is not rated in the top 10 of any sanctioning body and not even the top 15 of the WBO or WBA.
