No its supposed to be scoring the fight properly and that first round was clearly Mayweathers if you would of scored that round to Mayweather like you should have on your scorecard Mayweather would of had a draw on your scorecard so its important in this debate im just telling you didn't watch that first round correctly otherwise you would of had it for Mayweather it was his for certain.

I had Mayweather winning by 3 rounds i think people who have Oscar winning are fooled by flurries while they do look like there hitting there actually not and Mayweather landed the more shots the more power shots and more cleaner shots.

The fight was Oscar's to lose after round 8 - and he stopped doing everything that he'd been doing up to that point. Ran out of gas, is my opinion - but Floyd did start connecting more in those last rounds, too.

I'm still disturbed that so many people are counting those shots from PBF that Oscar was picking off with his gloves.
Or maybe dumbfounded is a better word. Either way, those punchstat totals are crap.
mate. For me, thats spot on

i had it a draw 114-114.....neighter fighter was impressive....one head hunted the other punched only when needed....Oscar was the agressor floyd the more accurate but DLH the busier....Truth is DLH lost that fight when he stopped jabbing

    Near identical with bcollins

I see no argument for rounds 1-5 and 10-12, less so for rounds 6-8 which are much more open to interpretation and could easily swing it one way or another.

Default PBF vs DLH: Lets see your scorecard

Ok I finally got my copy of ODL/PBF to rewatch. I scored it exactly the same as I did the night of the fight: 116-112 PBF. It's easy to say "well I thought PBF won" or "I thought it was a draw", but lets see how we all scored it round by round.

    Round Winner

    1 Floyd
    2 De La Hoya
    3 Floyd
    4 Floyd
    5 Floyd
    6 De La Hoya
7 De La Hoya (two solid rounds in a row for Oscar IMO)
    8 Floyd
    9 Floyd
    10 Floyd
    11 Floyd
    12 De La Hoya

The 12th was close but I gave it to Oscar because he flurried effectively IMO, and also got the better of the final exchange.

I saw a deja vu of the first Sam Peter/James Toney fight where the judges were obviously impressed with hard punches that WERE NOT landing. I'm sorry, if you get a guy on the ropes and throw 10 punches with only ONE landing clean, and the rest of the round the other guy is circling and pot shotting you with jabs, left hooks and right hands, you aint getting the round on my scorecard.

    Great performance by Floyd.

    Great performance by Floyd.
That's ironic - I saw an awful lot of those pot shots getting picked off on the gloves. Actually, I was surprised for several of the first 8 rounds - Oscar was fighting a really solid defensive fight while coming forward.

So if a guy is circling, looking cute but still getting caught with punches, while having his own potshots picked off by the more aggresive fighter, I know who I score the round to. Mayweather won, but it was a close thing.

CC for your opinion, though. It takes all sides of a story to get at the truth.

Oscar just can't get that many rounds from me, because there were too many rounds where he would throw 1 or 2 big flurries (with most punches missing) and then Floyd would control the remaining 2:30 of the round.

In some ways, this fight was similar to Jones-Tarver I, where Roy controlled most of the action, with Tarver having one or two flurries a round.
I thought ROy won that Tarver fight, and Floyd won this fight.
Wow! I scored the fight for De La Hoya but totally understand a Floyd win, as the fight was close, but Jones - Tarver I?! I remember that fight well, Tarver (much like De La Hoya) forcing the fight, not being terribly effective, but unlike Mayweather, Jones did NOTHING in response. He just sat back and waited to counter attack but forgot to actually throw any punches. I scored only one round for Jones in that fight, simply because I couldn't handle the idea of Jones being beaten so comprehensively. That decision was TERRIBLE. You cannot compare a robbery like that with a close fight like this!

First round wasn't a tie Floyd clearly won it thats why everyone else on this thread scored it for Mayweather because it was clearly his round.
CLEARLY? I think NOT! The rounds Floyd CLEARLY won were 9, 10, 11. I'll watch round one more carefully though...still " CLEARLY " is exaggerated.
No it isn't all commentators had him winning it Ledderman had him winning it even people who thought Oscar won had Mayweather winning it.

I don't see how you had it a tie it was Mayweathers round no debate needed it was his round for certain.
I scored that round for Mayweather, but after scoring the Oscar's fights with Tito and Mosley (2nd) for the Golden Boy, I deliberately showed a little bias to Floyd, that round was dead, very little in it, if I was to watch it again, I might well score it even.

I saw it EXACTLY the same as Harold Letterman

    1 - F
    2 - O
    3 - F
    4 - F
    5 - F
    6 -O
    7- O
    8 -F
    9 - F
    10 - F
    11 - F
    12 - O

    116 - 112, Floyd Mayweather

Throwing 10 punches flurries and landing only one shot, then getting pot shotted with jabs and hooks for the rest of the round DOESNT win you a round on my scorecard.

Mine was close but I still think Floyd won.

    1_Floyd

    3_Floyd
    4_Oscar
5_Floyd Pretty much back and forth at this point IMHO
    6_Oscar
7_Oscar My friends who were rooting for PBF were dead silent at this point. But it soon turned around.

    9_Floyd

    11_Floyd
    12_Oscar

Floyd 7 to 5 Some rounds were very close though and I was not supprised that the decision was so close.

I also thaught that the punch stats were somewhat misleading. I don't know how it works but I saw DLH blocking a LOT of shots. I also saw him hit Floyd more than the 23% they are saying. Still think PBF won though.

I would like to see it again.
