Here I cannot agree. What makes you think Kessler can beat Calzaghe? Was it the momentous victory over Beyer? The hype of ROYAL? Or the certainty of injured hands on the part of Calzaghe?

I dont even think this is a fight that will end up all that close....and i worry that this will again detract from people appreciating Calzaghe when its all done and dusted with...

I have criticised JC for his dithering over fighting opponents but if this comes off, I congratulate him wholeheartedly and a win secures his legacy imo. He ANNIHILATED the other guy who was considered the best in the division(LOacy) and now, if he wins,he'll be unbeaten, have unified, beaten the 2 best in the division and really cemented his place in history.

Also,I consider this fight to be more dangerous than the Taylor one,so for JC to GO ABROAD and take it would make a win even more of an incredible achievement. He'll pushing hard in P4P rankings too. It should be a cracker.

If this actually goes through, I'll be incredibly excited about this fight. I wonder how Calzaghe's hands will hold up? He hurt them again against Manfredo didn't he?
That being said, I won't believe its going to happen until they climb through the ropes and I hear a bell ring.

If Calzaghe's hands hold up for 12 rounds, I think Kessler is gonna get battered!!!! But I don't think Joe's hands can last a 12 round war - I mean he broke one on Peedy's soft head in that bore fest. So if the hands 'go', he either gets pulled out or gets beat - simple as for me. Aint gonna beat Kessler with 1 hand like some of his other victims

CC back bruv and I'd like to add that no one here on this forum can begrudge JC if he wins. He will have proved himself to everyone here.

I agree he totaly outboxes Kessler if his hands hold out.But that is a big worry he hurt his hand against Manfredo without throwing a power punch he will need need to let his hands go and throw some power punches just to keep Kessler thinking. If he doesnt do that Kessler willl just walk straight though Calzaghes shots.

From what I saw of Kesslers fight with Mundine, he will have lots of trouble with Calzaghe.

He has done nothing exeptional as yet, even Cattley knocked out Beyer and that was years ago

Id take Bika over Andrade as well

Kessler is what he is and he is just a basic boxer with good accuracy but he doesnt throw alot of punches gets beaten to the punch and gets pushed back by aggression

The combination of Joes high punch out put and southpaw style will trouble Mikkel for sure

Agreed. Calzaghe is going to work Kessler over something rotten. Kessler has little chance of beating Calzaghe.

Its only if Calzaghe injures a hand that the fight is even remotely close....

I hope something official is announced soon....Ive been waiting a long time since the Lacy fight for the next big fight!!!

Kessler - Taylor - Chad Dawson.

    1) Prove he is the best supermiddle in the world
    2) Beat the best middle in the world
    3) Beat IMO the best light heavy in the world and in the process become a 2 weight world champ.

No one can question him then!
    lol!

I think Kessler wins either UD12 or SD12 don't think he will surprise us with a stoppage but last 4 fights Mundine good solid fighter UD12 Lucas TKO 10 another good fighter and good result for how Kessler broke him down Markus Beyer WBC champ KO3 nobody has done that to Beyer in that fashion then their was Andrade UD12 tough mexican great chin just kept coming forward he was WBC number 1 contender 24-0 and Kessler handled with a class display of boxing. Now Calzaghe's last 4 Ashira UD12 fair enough he damaged his hand but i don't think he would have stopped him Lacy UD12 good win but lets have it right Lacy was just their to be hit all night Bika UD12 not a bad fighter but a step backwards after Lacy Manfredo Jnr TKO3 really bad stoppage but a step even further back.As far as i can see the only fighter moving forward is Kessler the only winner i see is Kessler but if Calzaghe beats him in style not just scraping through i won't be a fan but i will respect him as a fighter.

Kessler is the only one moving forward?? You make me laugh mate, Beyer was shot to pieces and looking for a pay day, i like the way you dismiss the Lacy victory in so many small words, Kessler has fought no one lets get it right, Beyer was utter shite and was a paper champion, go see what sort of odds Kessler was to beat these three guys and you will see that he was very strong odds on to do so, go see what kind of odds Joe was to beat Lacy ill tell you what he was the underdog in his own backyard, so lets have it right here Calazaghe is the only one in his last three fights to have fought anyone of any danger, its easy to dismiss Lacy now but the majority had Joe getting sparked within 6, and as for the Andrade bloke go look at his record he is rubbish mate and as someone else stated earlier Bika for me would beat him, i like the way you higlight his padded undefeated record prior to the Kessler fight, but lets have it right Calzaghe is the classier boxer no doubt.
