First of all, "legend" is a big word. But for PBF to become a legend, IMO, he should:

    1. Stop tooting his own horn. You don't call yourself a legend. You let OTHER people call you a legend.

    2. Have some epic battles. IMO, nothing raises the stock of a champion more than to have an epic, "ebb-and-flow" type fight, usually against another great opponent. And no... the DLH fight does not qualify on that count.

    3. Be patient. Becoming a legend is like fine wine. It takes time and cannot be rushed. Only time will tell if PBF will one day be worthy of being called a "legend."

Victories over Ricky Hatton and Cotto would catapult his legacy to that of a legend IMO, but if he choses to retire right now while he's still in (ot at least not too far off) of his prime and there are still huge fights to be made and more to be proven, history won't give him the credit that his skills deserve. He'd be short changing himself and boxing fans everywhere.
Before that he has to fight Mosley

KO Ricky Hatton in Manchester then retire.

Wait until (cross our fingers) Cotto beats the winner of Williams/Margarito and the public demands you unretire, then beat Cotto at Madison Square Garden. That would leave nothing more to accomplish unless he wanted to venture up to Middleweight, but he isn't that foolish.

1 and 2 I disagre with. Muhammad Ali tooted his own horn more than anyone and he went out as the greatest, back when he started out he was more hated than Mayweather is now.

2 is just rediculous because how can he have a hard fight if these guys aren't giving him a hard fight? What should he do, let guys land clean punches and steal rounds to entertain the fans? That would be retarded.

....he didn't clean out any other divisions I guess he doesn't want 147 to feel more special than 140 or 130 or 135 or 154.

Floyd is a PUSSY he fights liek a pussy, he makes matches like a pussy....if he was as great as he said Hatton, Margarito, Cotto, and Winky Wright would have all been under the W column in his record but they aren't.....why?

Floyd doesn't take risks and when he does they really aren't risks at all, his fight vs De la Hoya was the worst showing by BOTH of those guys in their entire careers

Miguel Cotto has ALWAYS wanted to fight Floyd....Antonio Margarito has ALWAYS wanted to fight Floyd....it's only Ricky that was undecided about fighting Floyd

Real big draws and legends MAKE fights they don't take them.....they MAKE THEM. De la Hoya made that fight with PBF and eventhough it sucked it was Oscar's pull that got it done!

Floyd is no good without an adversary....Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Ricky Hatton, Antonio Margarito, Winky Wright could all be great fights for Floyd.

There's a difference between wanting to fight someone and WANTING to fight someone. WANTING you could say is when you do everything in your power to make the fight happen, and Margarito is the only one who fits the bill there. Hatton and Cotto can say they want to fight Floyd all they want, but at the end of the day they aren't pushing their people to get on the phone with Floyd's people. There's a difference between actually trying to get the fight (what Antonio has done), and just saying it when a mic is put in front of your face without really caring if it even comes off (Hatton and Cotto and Mosley).

Sorry man, but that's not how it is, and not how it EVER was. Real big draws don't make fights. Real big draws make demands. It's the challenger's job to make the fight. Do you honestly think Leonard would have fought Hagler had he not conceded to ring size, glove size, and number of rounds Ray wanted? Do you think Oscar would have fought Floyd if Floyd asked for the bigger percentage? Let's get real here.

Leonard was THE STAR....Oscar was THE STAR....if Floyd is THE STAR he'll make fights happen
