perfect example of a title holder refusing to take on a mandatory challenger was Riddick Bowe against Lennox Lewis, that's how Lewis won his "first" WBC championship, by reaching down deep into that garbage can, and calling himself the champ

IMO Lewis wasn't the real HW champion till his fights with Holyfield, before that to me at least he was just a top contender

same as margarito..huh

no cause Margarito won his WBO title, Lewis went into a fight the WBC champion, without ever fighting in a championship fight, not the same at all, if there is a vacant title and someone wins it in a fight, well that person rightfully holds that title, Lewis was given his belt literally straight from the garbage, same thing they tried to do with Judah, before his fight with Mayweather, they still tried to bid it as an IBF welterweight title fight, when the real undisputed champion (WBC,WBA,IBF) was Baldomir, kinda like Hatton right now, i don't get why he's being called the undisputed Jr. Welter champ when he only holds the IBO title, which is far from being a major title, sorry undisputed means (WBC,WBA,IBF) the three major governing bodies, if you have a cheap rinky dink title you're just a contender

well hatton's clearly the man at 140 because he beat KT...there's no question about it..and floyd is the man at 147 beacuse he beat baldomir...Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales
yeah baldomir was the real WW champion and floyd should have fought him first, but oh well
