he's 20 years old.....he wasn't born a perfect boxer. ...why isn't he allowed to make mistakes?
he is progressing at the rate in which the boxing regulations are allowing him. he can't fight for a world title yet anyway so when he beats someone at british level there is no point in sayin 'yeh but he beat a punchbag' because he's basically beating the sort of guys that most 20 year old prospects won't get anywhere near for a couple of years. It's not his fault he is battering most of them.
he turns 21 on the 8th dec and he is fighting graham earl apparently who has just come off that war with wbo champ michael katsidis so he is being brought along quite well.
as for his chin.....until he actually gets his on it and goes down its a bit hard to comment on.....the limond shot was on the temple and i think you will find (even in miguel cotto's case) anybody can be shook by a shot on the temple.
Hop on buddy there's plenty of room it seems, we can both sit up front with the driver!
@Mikay. I applaud you for defending Amir my friend I too think he's a vastly underatted fighter on these boards (although admittedly overhyped by the British media) It's not his fault that the press decide to give him as much coverage as he gets and I really don't see anything wrong whatsoever about being confident in your own abilities.
I love Amir's attitude, think he's a fantastic role model for today's youth and hopefully helps steer away some Asian minorities who might otherwise get involved in the nasty side of Islamic fundamentalism. He's a Pakastani/English Muslim whose proud to be British and to represent our country. He has stood up and said defiantly that he thinks the terrorist attacks in London and around the world are evil and wrong, which must take some bottle for a young Muslim kid who knows full well that the majority of the Arab world hate the West with a passion.
I do think you were wrong to bring racism into though. Nobody on this board to my knowledge has ever made any racist comments about Amir, in fact the most likely person to have done so is probably myself

:P
So apologise for the racist accusations and move on. It's great your supporting Amir, others will come around later but in the meantime make peace with everybody and move on to less controversial subjects.
Hope you stick around the forum, we're a good sort really. Have a

and let's all be friends
