Cortez warned Mayweather for using the elbow but for the most part Floyd was using his forearms to push Hatton off or hold him at bay because Hatton was crowding him. Floyd knew he needed a certain amount of distance and he created that by pushing Hatton away. It's funny how people are bedeviling Floyd for his fouling but have little to nothing to say about Hatton's. Oh and absolutely nothing to say about Cortez's poor refereeing of Hatton's bout with Castillo. He punched him in the nuts no fewer than 3 times but everyone celebrated the huge KO over a faded fighter (who probably quit because he had no hope at a fair fight).
I actually did reference this on another thread. I said i felt Cortez in each fight severly protected the fighter whom HBO would make the most money out of.
