Cotto had some struggles at 140 but unlike Floyd he was killing himself making that weight...and people say he's the same size as Ricky Hatton....well there is a difference Hatton balloons up between fights and there is no evidence Cotto does that.....therefore Ricky is only fatter because he gets out of shape and Cotto doesn't or not to the extent of Hatton.

Cotto has fought competition that is on par with what Floyd has fought these past couple fights

Floyd: Judah, Baldomir, De la Hoya, Hatton

Cotto: Quintana, Urkal, Judah, Mosley....and lord knows who he's fighting next De la Hoya, Williams, Margarito

Miguel Cotto's attitude and style fit for a fighter that can beat Floyd Mayweather.....he's quiet, he's powerful, he doesn't get upset....his facial expression never changes....he'd let Floyd talk and he'd let Floyd play and it would do absolutely nothing to him (or so past fights would have us figure....you never know how guys will react for big fights).

great post Lyle CC in 24

and some say Cotto still needs to prove himself and that Cotto's win has less value than Floyd against Oscar. LOL OMG hater alert!!!!

Calderon vs. Solis - Mouth watering fight both very skilled fighters.
Guzman vs. Pac - The waters heating up and it WILL boil.
De Leon vs. Caballero II - This shit! is looong over due.
'Baby Bull' vs. Hatton - I made a thread on this a while back and the response was great.
Pavlik vs. Abraham - Come on you know you wanna see it.
Kessler vs. Froch - Nothing would please me more in 2008 then to see this one come off.

Other fights that I would be very interested in seeing:
Arce vs. Mabuza - No one agress with me but something tells me this fight would be fucken great.
Kiko vs. Baustista - 2 young prospects with power.
Linares vs. Luevano - 2 young guys both newly crowned World Champs.
Enzo vs. Haye - I hope it comes...

Again not on par with Cotto-PBF BUT very close IMO.
silence mambuza would FUCK arce up
The same way Singsurat was suposse to?

    u forgot the best one...

    isreal vs rafa III

two fights done, both got stopped..

this isn;t a let down fight... this will be hell and nothign less, to guys who are in no way going to want to win this fight by boxing... they will teare that shit up, go to hell and back, then back to hell and come back again... right now they are 1-1 this will decide the undisputed champ of their weight...

i mean style wise, cotto vs toni is everythig you want from a match...

sure toni lost o the hugger williams... but him v cotto would be awsome... you got the hard hitter agaisnt the guy you can't hurt.
I didn't forget it, I just thought someone else had already posted it?
For the most part I don't like to reply to threads posting something that's already been mentioned by someone else or 3, 4 different people.
And I agree Rafa vs. Israel III, is IMO the biggest fight for the sport as of right now.

Yeah a real big name. Then just 9 months later Cotto knocks him out in just 5 something noone else had ever done.

I think you're mad if you think Cotto was almost knocked out. It's his style, he knocks them down in the first round then piles on pressure and can get caught. LOL

I have just watched the fight again. And the fight was only 5 rounds lol. He was only hurt in 1 but he was still fighting that style jabbing moving around.

Have to say i think Puya's right he did gain a lot of weight after those weigh in's

Your talking with hindsight, i said *At the time* meaning just before he fought Mayweather.

I think your mad if you don't think Cotto was almost stopped, his legs were completely gone and he was lucky Corley is a sloppy finisher.

I know exactly what you're saying Ricardo "Finito" Lopez. You're saying when Mayweather fought Corley, Corley was a big name. But nine months later when Cotto knocked him out in 5. Corley was past his best and no longer a decent fighter.

Corley a big name i mean really, you really are inthe Mayweather camp arnt you.

This is the best clip i can find. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ElB7g8_Lci4

You think Cotto was almost stopped? Why would a ref stop a fight if Cotto was the guy throwing with more power?
Corley was knocked down after 30seconds in round 1. And then again 30 seconds later IMO but the ref didn't give it. And then 10 seconds later Corley was hurt again and in the corner.
Then Corley was in all sorts of trouble in the second running away from Cotto.

Yes in the third Cotto got caught. And held on that's what you're suposed to do. The ref split them he kept his hands up and kept moving.

That's just Cotto's style he has such power he hurts the guy then goes straight after him and risks getting caught.
Like Puya said he was well underweight anyway.

I didn't say that at all what the hell are you talking about ?? i said this comment.

"Your talking with hindsight, i said *At the time* meaning just before he fought Mayweather."

I said this comment. because i thought you was saying Corley wasn't good name just because Cotto KO him.

Yes i do Cotto was stumbling around the ring for almost entire round, i don't need to see the clip i have seen the fight enough times.

It doesn't matter if its *His Style* fact of the matter is he was almost knocked down with the first shot, then he was stumbling a round the ring for most of the round.

Stumbling around because he was under weight, had been caught with a good shot and young.

Because he was fighting to make the weight, was in his early 20's lacking experience. And has decent power unlike Mayweather so he jumped in and tried to finish it.

And did. In 5 unlike Mayweather who had to run and punch.

Did i say there was anything wrong with Cotto being rocked ?? i have already stated i respect Cotto, and his punch resistance is better at 147. But it doesn't change the fact that Cotto was badly shaken.

Mayweather had good power at Superfeatherweight.

I can tell your a hater, Mayweather destroyed Corley and Mayweather was in punching range at all times, if you call that running you haven't got a clue what your on about.
