Default Is Khan being stitched up?

Despite Amir Khan’s undoubted talent, he seems to make the same amateurish mistakes over and over and obviously isn’t blessed in the punch-resistance department. Is it reasonable to think that Frank Warren matched him with Barrera to, if he loses, rid himself of a costly white elephant? Perhaps he feels his time and money would be better used with his recent amateur signings?

    Thoughts on this theory?

I think Gavin alone will go much further than Khan ever will and certain other people know too.

Earning another bumper pay day against an all time ring legend at a sold out MEN arena.

Think if you asked john murray whether amir khan was getting a rough ride he`d put you in your place

So are you saying that Frank isn't currently making any money out of Amir Smash?

I don't really know about the business side but assumed that Warren was pocketing nice tidy sums with his Sky PPV's with Amir taking on softish opponents like Osin Fagin and Michael Gomez etc?

Are you saying that Amir costs him too much?

I guess it's possible, I expect Amir and his entourage probably expect pretty sizeable paychecks already?

It's definitely going to make him a whole lot more money if Khan does beat Barrera, although if Barrera has anything left I think Amir gets KO'd.

Who knows how much Khan gets per fight, what PPV % and how much Roach's help is costing Warren?
Obviously he's making a profit but how much is unknown.

Freddie Roach has Taken Pac to 2 wins over Barrera so he knows how to beat Barrera so he must have confidance in his man to pull it off but i keep thinking Breidis Prescott all over again because this is still Marco Antonio Barrera.

Wasn't Roach in Juarez's corner against Barrera?

And as we've all said...Khan ain't Pacquiao. Speed, check, keeps busy, check, angles, no, defence, no, experience no, chin

Amir Khan is probably the most famous boxer in the UK for non-boxing fans. Some of my friends who aren't into boxing knew who Khan was but didn't know much about anyone else. This is probably for 2 reasons. First his Olympic medal at 17 and his exposure on ITV. He was a fighter who non-boxing fans talked about because he was hyped so much. He was then moved to PPV. I went down to the pub with a few mates to watch his fight against Prescott. After the fight people weren't really bothered with him anymore because he was so rubbish.
I think by getting a fight with Barrera, Warren is trying to raise awareness of Khan again. Everyone knew Nazism Hammed and the only person to beat him is Barrera. This makes Barrera quite a big name in the UK to people who don't watch boxing much. If Khan can beat Barrera then people will think he's better than Naz and maybe start following Khan again.

I think it is sink or swim for Khan.

    Edit
    Sorry for the big writing

I have to say, I'd be very impressed if Khan stops Barrera. And, let's face it some people get "caught." Prescott came out with a gameplan, and I think it could have just as easily been the other way around.

Barrera has no quit in him, so I hope that Khan knows he is going to have to fight a fighter that brings a good variety to the table... of course along with a complete legacy. In reality, Barrera has taken less time off in retirement than some active fighters! I am picking Barrera for this one.

So, to me, Khan losses to the slugger and then to the technician.
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."

    - and I quote from some random guy on the internet

    Yes, a jab.

I can only forsee Barrera getting stopped if, he had bad sushi the night before, a biased british ref jumps in as soon as Khan throws a 3-punch combo or allah is seeking revenge after the Naz incident.

The folk who think Barrera has a chance against Kahn are being stitched up. I see a gradual beatdown and a late stoppage.

Of course when that happens i'll give it ten minutes before a 'Barrera is shot' thread appears on here.

Khan will get zero credit for this win from a lot of people because the fight won't even be close.

Coming off his one round KO and the shaky moments that came prior...yeah you can call it his make or break fight. What ever happens, ecspecially if he wins its..."what a rebound,he's just bested a ring legend and future HOF fighter".If he losses, more of the same but Warren slowly turns to the next big thing & prospect.
