He chose to shame Stevenson by choosing a gorilla with boxing gloves for a reason.
It suggests that Stevenson is a large muscular beast but is sub human in looks and intelligence and is nothing more than a primate. Whereas Kovalev and his aryan looking son are able to laugh about how inferior he is and about how he's just a joke on a t-shirt and someone to publicly humiliate and ridicule on twitter.

I think many people gladly would do that. Those guys probably are racists, Kovalev might be to, I just don't think this picture alone tells us that.
