Mate, if Joe beats Johnson on July 8, be it at light-heavy, super middle or whatever other weight he decides to fight at, will you accept that he is worthy of walking around in blue and red lycra with an S on his chest? Calzaghe definitely made a statement in his fight against Lacy, and there's no doubt that it was a boxing lesson, but if there are all those fighters that are up there with Calzaghe and want to beat him, why aren't they out there swarming all over him demanding fights?
Kessler and Beyer have hardly gone out of their way to make the fight happen, and Calzaghe is without doubt the most marketable S-M at the moment, so the opposition have to go out and make the fight happen if they think they can beat him, not the other way around.

I can see the story in the South Wales Echo now, “Calzaghe stops meteor with Iron Fist”, after he finally is acclaimed as his birthright....Superman!

Joe won't beat Johnson with one hand like Ashira.

    Even Achilles had his heel.

If his hand goes it'll be an uphill struggle.

I respect Joe's ability I just think Lacy was a little green for him. Calzaghe can totally dominate the division though I mean vs Kessler or anyone else he'll win. Let him fight Taylor or Hopkins or Tarver or even Johnson for a tougher fight

Joe Calzaghe is a smart and cautious fighter. never take a fight he can't win. Looking to fight slowish and technically limited fighters. This has caused him some disrespect over the years, so Calzaghe has found that if he takes on the strongest of the "slowish and technically inept fighters" then perhaps people will buy it.

So Mitchell, Sheika, Lacy were great for that purpose. Apparently calzaghe has been offering Briggs and Allen Green a fight at SMW recently. Two other fighters that fit the bill well - physically strong, but technically limited and not the fastest men on the planet.

Instead another fighter fitting the plan like hand in a glove is Johnson. A strong brave fighter with a good heart. Made for Joe! Just to be on the safe side however, Joe wants the fight to be at SMW, not LH (and Joe was having weight problems when Kessler talked about them fighting.. "uhh.. no, unfortunately no.. I cannot make weight anymore... Sorry Mikkel - I REALLY looked forward to us fighting
Super Middleweight also acknowledge as Kessler's Kingdom when Calzaghe has retire

The thing that i dont like about him calling out briggs is that hes telling him to come down to super mid...a weight he hasnt made in 10yrs! And joe is always saying how he wants to move up in weight well thats a good chance.

it is quite unusual for Joe wanting to fight Glen at 168 i dont get it to be honest, but one thing that gets me Snakey about your statement about Calzaghe is that id 100% guaranteed if it was Mundine who was the 41 fight unbeaton two belt world champ, we wouldnt hear the end of it, but as you have stated previoulsy you havent looked into Joes carear that closely, so firstly how can you even comment of Calzaghe if you havent seen hardly anything of him??

That is quite funny if you ask me you base your bashing on Calzaghe on speculation and what you have read?? As a boxing fan i prefer to have a good look into someones career closely before i start to insult and critizise them.

Man i like the guy and i support him but from what ive seen he has struggled against some guys who he probably should of absolutely hammered into the ground which makes me think he is beatable. Man mundine aint 41-0 and he isnt ruling the division but here in aus we dont have many great boxers, we dont have many great champions so we get behind every good boxer we have. You can call us biased towards our own countrymen but we support our fighters, thats what kind of people we are. Dont know if youve been to aus before but we dont get many fights let alone pommy fights. We get the occasional cotto fights on espn a week after theyve been fought and and we get some big fights. Ive seen joe vs lacy and he was awesome in that but just remember lacy wasnt an excellent boxer but damn he could bang. You all say im bashing joe...i aint, im just stating some of my opinions. I dont have to agree with all of yous, i dont have to believe joe cant be beat in the division. As a boxing fan id like to see more of him too but im quite limited over here. How can you guys comment on mundine? Ive seen every and i repeat EVERY one of his fights and how many have you seen? Ive seen him improve and you havent, ive seen him become a very good boxer. And let me make something clear to all of you mundine haters, mundine aint lacy....he aint a powerpuncher, he can box and it would be interesting to see a fight between him and joe. I know whats coming next from all of yas "He got knocked out by fuckin ottke"....but has since fought powerpunchers and not been knocked out so ever think it could of been a fluke? Ever wonder why ottke avoided mundine like the plague(mundine spent a whole lot of time trying to get a rematch with ottke and he just wouldnt do it). You guys can bag me all you want for being a mundine fan and making comments on joe but one day joe might just get beat and then its going to shock the shit out of yous all coz you thought he was unbeatable. And for you guys saying "No one said he was unbeatable" then who can beat him in your opinion coz you guys certainly dont want to hear about the boxers i bring up. Apparently no one at light heavy could beat him and no one in the super middleweight division can beat him either so how bout winky wright? Does he stand a chance? What about Jermaine Taylor, does he stand a chance? Bernard Hopkins, does he stand a chance? Antonio Tarver, does he stand a chance? Can anyone beat calzaghe in your opinion?

The great Kostya had a weakness didn't he? 2 in fact...so yes...the Great Calzaghe could have a weakness...but it hasn't been shown to date. He was dropped...but guess what...he got up & he kept fighting & he won.

    Credit that.

I'm a huge Kess fan & I can say that he aint got a shot in hell.

Winky...maybe...but Winky's got to be able to carry the weight & take that heavier punch...so he's to be a question mark in my book.

Tarver...I just don't rate Tarver...but the same goes for Calzaghe that went for Winky...Joe's got to be able to carry the weight & take that heavier punch...& who's to say that he can or can't.

Johnson...Glen Johnson might have had a shot at Light Heavy...but I don't think that he will at 168 because of the prep time.

Roy Jones jr? Please. Next question...

Taylor...too green & I thought that Hopkins beat him the first go round...the second...he maybe did enough to just eke it out. Taylor's been impressive against smaller men...the bigger they are...the harder Taylor finds it to regain his composure.

Sure there's someone out there that can beat Joe...but I don't know of anyone off the top of my head that I would bet on.

I can tell you this much...he'll gut it out no matter what...he always has. When he get's in trouble or his ass touches canvas...it just propels him to further the game & finish the fight or the opponent...you won't have to worry about catching his ass on some stool listening to a ref talk.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
