I'd urge some of you people to watch Hatton vs Collazo round by round, and scoring them individually, It seems on that night Collazo won the 'fight' but Hatton won the rounds! Don't get me wrong, it was extremely close, but the decision was unanimous for a reason. My scorecard matched 2 of the 3 judges exactly, its not a hard fight to score. But Hatton was being handled, in either the 5th or 6th (can't quite remember) Hatton barely landed a glove. But we score on 10 point scoring system, and overall Hatton's strategy palyed out, other than an extremely careless 12th that nearly cost him the fight. This has relevance on this thread because of all the talk by Floyd saying Hatton doesn't want the fight. Hmmm.... The 2 guys touted to be the men to actually have a realistic chance of beating him (the other being margarito) and Floyd wants to fight neither of them. It makes me sad, I wish Floyd wasn't all about 'business' for 2 fights of his career and we actually got to see how good he was, if he really was an all time great. At this rate I'm going to remember him for his mouth first.Originally Posted by wacko3205

You know I loves ya...but let me ask you this (I know you love Hatton & all that): is beating Collazo & Kostya more to remember than beating Sosa, Chavez, Castillo, Gatti, Corrales, & Judah?Originally Posted by yoitsdan

Again...not trying to be a smart ass...but I hate for people to rip on Floyd & up Hatton.

My Questions:
#1: Can Floyd continue to rise up with repeated success?
Depends who his opponents are... I wouldn't say he is taking the safest route, but at the same time he hasn't exactly taken the toughest route either.
well if PBF wants to really make it crystal clear he is indeed the best pound for pound right now he needs to fight: Toney, Ricky Hatton, Oscar, then no one can possibly hate on him. im a huge fan of his but if he fights other people then the ones mentioned in 2007 id be disapointed.Originally Posted by lb4lb

I know you ain't being a smart ass, it's cool, and there's no doubt that mayweather has earned his reputation, the list of guys he has beat is impressive, Hatton hasn't beaten as many quality guys, I'd just love it if he was more down to business, and I'm getting impatient with him saying he'll never fight Hatton, I begin to worry the fight will never happen, and I don't think it's ricky who doesn't want it. Your right I do love Hatton more than anyone today because he relates to us brits, but I love watching fights where there's no favourite, between 2 possible future greats in their prime that haven't crossed paths. Hagler v Hearns, Tyson v Holyfield, Ali v Frazier, Leonard v Duran, Hatton v Mayweather you know, they're in the same league.Originally Posted by wacko3205

I agree that Mayweather should hands down take this fight. It may be a little rough in the opening rounds, but I see him finding his distance and rhythm fairly quickly against Baldomir, who isnt probably the toughest fighter that Floyd has ever had to figure out, stylistically. The question is the pressure Baldomir can keep putting on him throughout the fight and stay coming forward in his regular stalking style; also what about the series of counterpunches Baldomir stands to eat when he misses Mayweather? And like it or not, Carlos is going to be doing a lot of missing in this fight. Floyd would not be that easy to hit if you were trying to do it with a scope and a laser sight, and I do see a possibility of us saying "ta-ta" to "Tata" in the later rounds if he cannot continue to absorb the counterpunching combinations that Mayweather will undoubtedly be seeking to put on him. I would like to see a late round stoppage by Floyd but more likely this will be a tough unanimous decision as I think Baldomir is gonna keep comin at him and keep him on his toes for most of the match. I do think Baldomir has a chance however at pulling an upset if conditioned properly and he fights his heart out (which he has a reputation of doing)...
what do you guys think about the Briggs-Liakovich and Klitschko-Brock fights? Does anyone even care? LOL!
