Then, I suspect, he'll get be in big trouble. It's too bad, and I'd like to see him finish the fight on his feet, even if he loses.
Very true. Sorry to the fans of EM. November 18 (19 here in the Philippines) is the appointed time for the Erik Morales' retirement from professional boxing. EM will be knockout before 10th round.
I take it this is 'jumont'

Ok, let's get down to business.

We'll start with the Terrible: what should (or would [probably]) Erik do?

I think Erik would basically do what he usually does - he's hardly known to change his style, though I think he'll be a bit more careful this time. I have this gut feeling that he'll go for an all out attack once he catches Pac off-guard, aiming for a KO, and when he fails, retreat again. I think that will be his basic strategy in this fight. If you want to understand how Erik fights, just watch his eyes, he uses his eyes to the max, always looking for an opening and exploiting every opportunity when he sees one, somewhat similar to Marquez except he doesn't wait for his opponent to attack first.

Now to Pac: what should Pac do?

As they say, if it ain't broke..., so he will probably do what he did the last time. In that last fight he let Erik do his stuff until the 5th to sap him a bit and started his offense on the 6th. But facing a supposedly stronger Erik he'd probably be starting his attack earlier this time, always wary of Erik's kamikaze attacks on the way. If there is anything he should do differently, I think it will be in the defense department. It'll help him a lot if he gets hit just a little less. He did show some new defensive moves against Larios, the most effective being his spinning move after throwing his straight left, leaving Larios confused for his counter.

So what makes this fight exxxxziting?

Pac said he's got some new moves for this fight, and Erik keeping his silence as if he's keeping a top state secret. Who knows, Erik might come hanging up his gloves over his face as Winky does and Pac hitting Erik and immediately holding him like Hopkins did... As some fools might say, 'the possibilities are endless!' That big 'unknown,' ladies and gentlemen, makes this fight exciting!!!

And what will probably be the biggest factor determining the outcome of this fight?

It'll be the motivational factor against the confidence factor, IMO.

On the motivational front, Erik is clearly more motivated here and I'm sure you all know why so I'll skip the explanation. But on the confidence factor, Pacman clearly has the advantage; again no explanation is necessary here.

So what are the odds for this fight?

When motivation goes against confidence, the latter almost invariably wins. So I'll give the fight 49% for Erik and 51% for the Pac - that's how unsettling this fight is for the Pacfan. But since that's kinda timid for me, I'd settle with 45% & 55%, respectively. So is Pacfan being biased, we shall see!

And finally, disregarding the odds, what's Pacfan's prediction?

I think Erik will knock Pacman twice in the first round and again in the second, and KO him in the third!!! Why is that so? It's simply because Pacfan (that's me) has never being wrong with his analysis here but almost always wrong in his predictions! That's because I've always used my heart when predicting, instead of my tinny mind. :P

Ok, folks, start digging your foxholes and stack up your sandbags coz we are in for a WAAAAAR! Don't forget to stack up on your MRE's too. Geeze, I can't wait.

You won't hear any excuses from me."
thats what Erik said after the 2nd fight
he isnt making excuses, forget the weight, the distractions
i thought boxers doesnt usually give excuses right after the fight
the people behind them are the ones who formulates those excuses
and they need a little time to do so

Thanx El Gamo, and Cutmemick (I saw you rooting for for the 'Terriiiiible' so you must be Erik fan like EGamo). Hate to admit it guyz but I think your boy's got a chance if half what they have been saying is true. I forgot to mention, Erik did stun Pac with his uppercut at around 8th round in the last fight, I think he's been working on that and if so that could be a very dangerous stuff for our boy. But still, don't get your expectations too high coz I'm starting to have some doubts too; I mean, the way uncle Bob has been so enthusiastically promoting this fight, I wonder if this whole thing, including the velocity camp, is just a part of a grand scheme to sell the fight? I surely hope not coz there's nothing like seeing two fighters in best of their condition splattering their bloods and guts out in the ring. But I guess these big ifs' adds to the excitement of the fight. Brace yourselves guyz, it just two days before the Graaaaad Finaaale!!!!!

CC back to you Gamo, and a CC for you too Cutmemick.

He's definitely going for the KO, mga pare. I think he is aiming for a Larios style all-out kamikaze attack. So watch out, guyz. Coming soon!

Imo if morales cant win he is screwed...if he does decide to fight on (which i dont think he should if he loses) he will have to sort himself out cos all of these loses will not motivate him in the slightest! Pac imo has the advantage of stopping morales and in his last match against larios he looked good. He looks like he wants to wants to be the best in the 130 weight class and by stopping Erik tommorow night he will surely be on the way. He will have to produce another spectacular perfomance because morales knows that another 'L' on his record that its game over imo!

I think manny has this one but im not sure how!

Im really nervous about this bout also. Im a Morales fan so I am sticking with my guy. I just love the way he fights and his attitude. He wants to fight the best regardless (except with MAB, but he has already fought him 3 times). I just wish more boxers had his attitude about taking fights, the sport would be in a better place.

I just hope Morales lures Pac into going for a quick KO and leaves his body alone for the early rounds.

Hi Gamo, where have you been lately. Ya, of course I've been nervous and I've been running around this forum and saying lots of nonsense, the prefight jitter-bug musta have gotten into me. We're here, brodda, at last, all that we've been waiting for, just can't believe it. What adds to the excitement or the anxiety is that I'm not yet clearly settled as to who, the big who question mark and it's just a day to go. I briefly saw a while ago the poster named Pacquiao. Isn't this the guy who predicted EXACTLY the outcome of the last fight and I remember that he was so sure he did it twice. Do you remember, coz I was not here when he made the prediction, I saw that on few days-old threads when I just came here after the rematch, though the thread I think already expired. His name also adds to the intrigue, you know; was he one of the Pac's people, or was he Mr. Roach, or the Pacman himself? I've been wondering about that ever since. I will take his word for it if he makes another prediction. (attention: poster 'Pacquiao') If he says Pac's gonna win, I'll get some snack and watch the fight. But if he says Pac's gonna lose, I'll just take a walk to the nearest park, get some fresh air, stroll around there, watch the kids play (it's kite season here so kids here are making and flying their kites, and Union Jack is one of their favorite designs too), grab some snacks and call it a day while the whole nation cries . So El Gamo, watch out for this guy and what he's gonna say, I hope he'll make his prediction. I'm very serious.

But you know, everytime I remember the dare you took, the more I'm starting to think the fight will end up in a draw!!! But I'll help you out with the clicks, just give me the name of a day and on that day I'll click for you so you can have a day off each week; that is, of course if Pac wins - remember, the sole reason I'm here is the Pac!

    Hell no he's not leaving.

I don't give two shits about what kinda wack-ass bet he made with whoever or what not...he's the only Pac-fan that acts like he's got any sense on this joint.

    There...I said it.

    Morales, Pacquiao make weight!

    Friday, November 17 2006

    By Victor Perea
    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...FZIeTsQce.html

Both Erik Morales and Manny Pacquiao weighed in at 129.5 at today's "Grand Finale" weigh-in in Las Vegas. Morales was contractually obligated to pay Pacquiao $500,000 for every pound he comes in over the 130lb limit, however a long training process that included weeks with a group of professional conditioning coaches Velocity Sports Performance in Los Angeles before his regular training camp in the Otomi Mountains of Mexico, brought Erik to Las Vegas on weight and seemingly in tremedous condition. Pacquiao, meanwhile, looked extremely ripped as usual.

Fantastic! Morales made weight & he does indeed look much better than the last time...we may just have us a fight on our hands.
