Also--I haven't seen it mentioned here, but JMM made a "WTF" face when Michael Buffer started reading the scores (i.e., when the numbers were announced, but prior to saying who won).

I am watching as they annouce the scorecards right now, the ONLY expression made by JMM was a 'winse' like expression he squints both of his eyes in fatigue and pain but by any means I don't know how you determine that expression is a WTF? expression....

Call it whatever you want-- "wince," "WTF expression"; characterize it however you want--"pained," surprised, disappointed, whatever. But the point is that he had a negative reaction--he didn't smile and start clapping or look relieved. I'm not saying he thought he lost the fight; I'm just saying he didn't think he won the fight by 7 points. So far, there seems to be exactly one person (other than that judge) who claims not to be surprised by that score (that would be this newbie/ new sign-on for existing member, "Terp").

The point is very simple and non-controversial: when they announced the first, super-wide score, JMM made a negative facial expression, not a positive one. You yourself called it a "wince" (actually, I believe you called it a "winse," but I'm assuming you weren't trying to coin a new word)--though maybe we should discount your analysis there, since I'm assuming you're not a "face expression expert."

The fact that he smiled and raised his hand after they announced he won the fight is neither here nor there. As I explicitly stated in my post (which you apparently didn't read, so I'll quote it for you), "I'm not saying he thought he lost the fight; I'm just saying he didn't think he won the fight by 7 points."

Really, I was just pointing out something I saw and that I thought was interesting. I didn't come in here saying "this proves Barrera won by 10 rounds" or anything crazy. But the fact you're getting so defensive and irate about something so small and seemingly secondary really speaks volumes.

My favourite part was when Barrera blatantly broke the rules by hitting Marquez full force whilst he was down . Then had the audacity to hold his arms up as if to say say " what did I do wrong "

You gotta love him for that . Plenty of times in the pasti've seen him getting told off like a naughty school boy .Most notably ramming Nas' head against the turnbuckle . He breaks the rules and then acts shocked as if he cant belive he is getting pulled up on it . Its class . Marco is legend !!!!!

Havent seen the whole fight yet but I'm pretty sure that fucked up round is crucial, Marquez is lucky. I feel bad for Barrera but I'm pretty impressed with his overall durability to survive that round and power dropping JMM with 1punch

That was bad.Marco has shown his ugly face to the world and to his fans. I am disappointed with him.

The way I see the hit when he was down is like this: The referee wasnt in there waiving him off sayin it was a slip, it happened to fast, the replay was slow motion so it looks like he was down for awhile. Barrera did what he is supposed to do, keep fighting until he is told to either reset or go to the neutral corner. The ref got in there after the late punch and then said it was a slip..then he deducted the point for the late hit. I put that one on the ref not doing his job, at least thats what I remember, I was a little buzzed.I could have swore he hit em then the ref seperated after.It was obviously not a slip, so I think Barrera got totally hosed. I can still see Marquez winning on the cards if that round was scored different, but a hell of a lot closer.Rematch
