    Cool Mate

He can't touch the likes of Ali & Louis for 'Greatness' but couldn't see Louis beating Tyson

Someone mentioned Tyson is not a top ten Heavyweight... Well I would like to see the 9 other gighters you would rank higher.... Heres how I would list in no paticular order.Lets stick to our modern era, because those guys would get lathered by todays standards if they squared up in that stance and technique.

    Louis
    Holmes
    Ali
    Foreman
    Frazier
    Liston
    Holyfield
    Lewis
    Marciano
    Tyson

I actually have tyson ranked third if its on a "Who would beat who" principle. Now if you're doing it in terms of legacy than no way is tyson in the top 10.

He completely dominated the world of Heavyweight boxing for 4 years and unified the belts, can you find 9 others that did that?

Unifying a split title isn't as impressive as guarding a Solid title against the best in the division. When there was only one title, you had to fight the best because there was no way around it. Somebody could unify 3 of the 4 belts today and not have to thru wlad how does that sit with you? You could pay for an abc title and fight some bum to get it. That 4 year span took place in his first 5 years of boxing. 5 years does not constitute greatness. But again i'll say on his best night he was probably the 3rd toughest heavyweight to face all time.

Lewis is defo above him on the all time list. For the amount of time he reigned and the fighters he beat. no body could argue with that. Think Tyson is top 10 but not top 5.

Yes but he did all that before he was 25. If lebron retires at 25 do you still think people are gonna put him in the all-time great players list? No. By that time he'll have a title for sure but you can't say that something somebody did before they even made it into their late 20's warrants them being considered the top 10 of all time.

If tyson retired before the buster douglas fight at 24 and 37-0 would you consider him an all time great? Because thats what you're basically establishing his greatness on because after that He went 23-6 and lost to some ponderous opponents.

I consider Salvador Sanchez an all time great

Yes I would consider Tyson at ATG had he retired in 89 and I still do now.

No way near my favourite fighter, I just objectively belive that he really was that good

He was good but by no means should he have lost to buster douglas (even tho tyson won that fight). As i've said before if he was truly great he would've continued that success. Everyone keeps blasting me for comparing tysons first years and say he could be beaten based on fights i've watched while thats really all he had was those first 5 years despite everyone constantly telling me he was inexperienced then. Well when did he become an improved fighter? He didn't thats all he had. You can't just compete for 5 years at a high level and be considered one of the top 10 all time greatest for that sport/ division. I just don't see it. Now does he break the top 20? probably.

To me tyson is completely different than all other fighters. Mike tyson is incomparable to any past or present fighters. Although some can question his competition, no one can question what he did to the guys he did fight. I mean, I believe he is the only heavyweight who actually won fights before he even fought them, i remember watching his opponents in the ring before the bell and they look absolutely petrified. Mike tyson was an animal, sure there are fighters out there with more skill, and more stamina. But looking at mike tyson in his prime is something i have never seen before, and most likely will never see again.
You always here people saying "this prospect is like the next tyson", "this guy hits like tyson". There is a reason for it.
People can debate about his opposition all they want, but in the end, there is something no one can take from mike. He was the most exciting heavyweight in boxing history. You knew when you were watching a tyson fight, someones getting hurt. In the most viscious way possible. (even when it was him losing).
