The way hes been fighting lately came back to haunt him.He had Pavlik well and truly hurt, and he didnt finish him

That doesnt tell you the quality of the punches thrown eg which where good clean punches and which were pit-a-pat.
Quality of punches ?? Pavlik was throwing stiff jab and landing with good right hands come on theres no way in hell Taylor won that round if you just watch the round you can see Taylor's punches getting blocked at the start of the round when Taylor comes out swinging alot of those punches missed Pavlik landed more effective and cleaner blows and the punchstats like i said earlier are the icing on the cake.
ICE, 3 judges, A television judge and a hell of a lot of people gave the first round to Taylor..Just deal with it mate!! If it was one person saying it then fair enough but we're giving you well thought out arguements as to how Taylor won the first round (in our opinion). I really couldn't give a S*** what the stats say, I know what I was watching and that to me looked different to the stats! Rounds sometimes look a hell of a lot different than the stats would have you believe.
You can't force people to see what you see which is what it is coming across like
I couldn't really careless because he knocked Taylor's ass out but the stats are well in favor of Pavlik plus he landed cleaner more effective blows if you want to try and deny the facts of the stats to make you feel better go ahead but fact of matter is they are the facts and Pavlik won the round you need to rewatch to round and pay close attention to Taylor's punches getting blocked like when he started off the round fast most of the punches were either blocked or they missed.
Ok my last last last point lol i promise because this thread is getting old (fuck why am i so stubborn )
You have around 40%-50% of people i'd imagine who feel Taylor was ahead..you then have 100% of the official judges, one TV judge and a few writers..you can tell me to watch the first round again and again and again all you want which fair enough I can do and it may or may not change my mind. Fact is judges only get one take at scoring a round..they don't have the benefit of stats. All they have is their 2 eyes and they saw what I saw along with a good amount of other people in the first round. You can tell all 3 judges to watch it again and again..in hindsight they may even award Pavlik the round but Taylor had the benefit of being a flashy, eye-catching boxer!! Taylor certainly convinced me he won the round and I was a complete neutral in scoring the fight..not a Taylor fan but admittedly I did feel sorry for him and wanted him to come out proving everybody wrong (which I still think he did) but thats besides the point. Which is why I just think it's silly bringing out the stats when nobody at that point in time had the benefit of stats. All we had was our eyes to judge..and the eye-catching punches of the more impressive boxer took the round for me. (and apparently all 3 judges). Also remember that outlanding your opponent doesn't automatically give you the round. There are other things that go into scoring.

I can see both sides ICE but the reason i'm debating so hard is I take offence to words like 'only a fool couldn't score it that way' and 'That's an impossible score!!' because people are talking about me and a shitload of other people who scored the fight the way we did. Hell even my friends who were big Pavlik fans and had bets on Pavlik had him losing. If I was the only one scoring it that way then yeah i'd certainly start to wonder but as of now...Ma mama din't raise no foo!!

I agree with you on one thing in this topic and thats that it doesn't matter one bit either way. I havn't once discredited Pavlik..he did great and finished with really impressive poise. I want to see the return and also have Pavlik facing some more 'boxers' to see how he fares. I'm certainly not doubting his legitemacy as world champion.

I do think Taylor beat himself. He Pavlik beat if he would have regained his composure and tightened up those punches instead of swinging like a 12 year old fighting over a girl in the middle of the street. At the same time i think Pavlik was hurt to the point where ref Steve Smooger should have stopped the fight, but he didn't but that is a another different story.

First off he only hit pavlik w that shot because Pavlik was being stupid and was making a face at him....

Taylor fought one of his best fights in years...

    and got knocked unconscious...

give pavlik credit and stop being haters....

the fight was rapidly becoming one-sided in the 6th...

pavlik was starting to land his straight right with more and more accuracy...

not to mention Taylor only one two rounds....

    pavlik beat his a$$

pavlik's reign as middle-weight champ has began
the new king of the middles the ghost kelly pavlik

Taylor didnt knock pavlik out because he couldnt...

he landed EVERYTHING HE HAD ON HIM and taylor just didnt have the power, and pavlik had to tough of a chin, to finish him..

you all are acting like pavlik is klitchko.... pavlik has never been on the mat , he has a very tough chin..... pavlik was just to tough....

so i guess give tayor his credit too ,he fought a good fight, he just lost...

like i said taylor fought one of his best fights in years, thats why the taylor team isnt jumping at the chance for the rematch...

    Way off, IWO.

Taylor didn't just beat himself...he got his ass handed to him.

That was Pavlik that stunned him in the 3rd after gettin dropped & that was Pavlik that knocked his ass out.

Pavlik beat him. Taylor put up a great fight & was ahead on the cards @ the time of the stoppage if I aint mistaken.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
