Oh bull pucky Lyle, everybody knows how the high court breaks, and by what party affiliation
Scalia aint no Democrat, nor is Roberts or Thomas,or Alito. Stevens is a Ford appointee,Souter is a Bush 1 appointee,Kennedy was Reagan one.
So all but two justices are Republican nominees
And the guys who actually do the most legislating from the bench are Scalia and thomas.

About Scalia and Thomas legislating from the bench

As for you Trainer...."It's not a conservative-liberal fight on the court," Scalia said. "It really isn't. It has to do with what your view of the Constitution is."

    It doesn't make any difference.

OK how about this....which specific rulings did Alito and Thomas make that were "legislating from the bench"?

So yeah Lyle, I'm pretty much with you, but I don't seem to get as worked up about it.

Well think about it, the music being PUSHED on the people is pure shit and it's due to stuff like American Idol.

I'm sorry if I get worked up but whenever I think about what people may hate about America or Americans in general I look no further than MTV's "The Real World"....I hate THOSE Americans too and I am American.
i've only been saying all this for years now.. minus the being fed to the lions part.

90% of music on the radio is pure garbage.. talentless garbage.. The 10% that is good is the very very few bands that sneak through the cracks and have a good radio hit, and of course the classic music stations..

as far as TV goes, it's true, it's just completely terrible.. Paris Hilton's My BFF.. like, are you kidding? I enjoy watching movies on TV, i enjoy watching sports, i enjoy a certain few HBO shows, and the history channel/natgeo etc.. besides that it's just so sad to know that the majority of the channels is what our society is watching daily..

thing is, i don't even think the real world is THAT bad.. i mean, yes, it's based on getting viewers by causing as much drama as possible, but at least it's "real".. it's not scripted, i've had friends on the show.. i think there are a lot of worse shows, specifically on mtv, that are worse than the real world, that still get a ton of viewers.

Let's not drag Benito Alito into this. I don't know the specific rulings, but I'll bet you a dollar that they favoured members of the Enron and Taliban wings of the GOP.

....Well then upon reading that your claim that Scalia and Thomas legislate from the bench is just a guess and arguments aren't won on such guesses oh insufferable one

No, it isn't a guess at all. It's empirical evidence based on how many congressional laws each judge struck down. One of us argues using facts and evidence and one of us using stuff some blowhard on the radio told them/fairy stories/guesses.

You say that as if there is only one correct way of interpreting the Constitution. And my friend you are wrong...just like every other argument we've had. There are two ways of interpreting the Constitution #1. As a blueprint for what our government does (ie we are ruled by the Constitution) #2 As a living document that can be tailored to fit our government (ie the Constitution is changed to suit our needs).....and honestly those can be right or wrong depending on the circumstances, the precidents, and how good of a job the lawyers state their cases.

So if you want to blame Thomas and Scalia for their decisions then you had better find those pansy ass liberal lawyers and blame them for doing a fucking horrible job of convincing those guys of their case.

And if you had ever bothered to ask me any of the decisions I would make if given the chance, you'd see I am very open minded and reasonable
